Hi all. I just mastered DE a few minutes ago. I looked up from my macros to see i now have upwards of a jillion new schematics. Thanks to the stickies, I did the grind pretty fast, but now i'mclueless as to what I need to do next. I know this info is in this forum somewhere, but I'm wanting to jump in.My first observation is that I obviously will need to craft a ton of components. So my first questions are:

1. Does quality matter for the components?

2. Do most MDEs make sales in person or via vendors?

3. What should I read next?

For most subcomponents quality does not matter.

You should start stocking up on a good supply of resources, both grind and high quality.

If you havn't allready, start collecting skill tapes with +droid assembly and +droid experimentation.

Most DE's sell from their vendors, as it's generally easier/more profitable that way. A few do sell exclusivley by order only (myself included) but it can be more time consuming and less profitable.

As for what resources you need and for what components, check out the stickied links up top and pay a visit to the DEA website, you'll find the url in my .sig

Thanks Shaila. I'll be doing a lot of board reading soon I'm sure. Offhand, which components require high quality resources?

And if all you did is grind without actually making any droids to sell, you'll now have to actually learn the ins and outs of droids. Definately look through the FAQ at the top of the forums, they are a great resource for new DE's.

off the top of my head, the following require quality resources:

  • combat module

  • stimpack module

  • creature harvest module

  • trap module

  • auto-repair module

  • self destruct modules

  • final assembly on survey droids

  • final build on droid custom (paint) kits

  • final assembly on all droids (higher quality = more HAM.) All you have to worry is the quality of the resources for final droid build and dont worry about making quality droid parts other than what I listed above.

  • all droid repair/reconstruction kits and components. Dont bother making reconstruction kitsother than A's, you'll hardly ever use them. They are just to get rid of any wounds. Dont sell recon kits, because only a DE can use them.

  • (not sure if Im missing something else that needs quality resource)

Everything else you can use any crappy materials. Dont experiment on them, because it makes factory runs take longer.

Check for or buy a small amount of Lidium Extrusive Ore to make storage modules. Its one of the modules that people ask for the most and that ore is super rare.

Get your hands on the best OQ chemical you can find. Should not be hard.

Welcome to the DE profession!

Thanks, this really helps. My player city is located next to Kaadara, which means we get a lot of BH traffic. My first droids have been targeted to their profession (seekers, detonator mse), but i want to start making the R2's and R3's soon. Thanks for all the help.
