ok, i've pretty much combed the stickies for this. some links were broken, and some never loaded. My new questionsare regrarding combat modules and armor.

1. what are the combat modules? are theya specific moduleor a group of modules? Why am i not seeing these in my schematics? I pretty much understand how to combine them in cluster modules now.

2. is armor considered a combat module? If it is not, am i correct in assuming that resource quality will not matter in the crafting of armor module (namely the composite segment)?

thanks in advance,

1) There are combat clusters (hold 3 modules) and combot modules. If you want a droid to be able to fight, load it with a combat module. If you want it to do more damage, load it with more combat modules (they stack).

Check the droid schematic for which droids require combat clusters vs general clusters.

2) Armor goes in a seperate slot and is NOT a combat module. Resource quality will not matter.

The combat modules are in the crafting tool as "Droid Combat Module". Just look closely and you will find it. Yes they do stack and resource quality and experimentstion DO matter on those mods.

As to armor, you are correct in that nothing the AS does or doesn't do to the comp segment will have any effect on the final armor module. So tell them not to experiment and dont bother putting any enhancements in. Use your worst resources as the quality of resources does not matter either. Armor is capped on droids and the cap can be reached with 2 Level 4 srmor modules or 1 level 6 module. Putting in more than 1 L6 is a waste.

Hope this helps

Ok, I want to avoid making several posts a day in this forum with my de questions, so I'll just add it on to the bottom of yesterdays and see if i get a hit

I would like the opinion of veteran DEs. I am wondering what the best droid to suggest for an artisan-only who needs support in checking harvs and such. My first creation for this person was an LE adv featuring 2 repair modules, a combat module, and level 6 armor. Obviously i'm going the "tank" route and trying to make a guy who will last the longest, if not punch the hardest. I am thinking if i also set her up with repair kits, the LE should be able to go an idefinate amount of time against mid-level mobs.

Whaddya think?

I like (and carry) a Probot with 5 auto-repair modules in it. It does little to no damage, but I have a little and would rather have all the xp for myself.

If you want somethat that will do some damage, you could replace some of the auto-repair modules with combat modules.

The probot does not have the most HAM, but in my opinion it is one of the fastest droids. If you use an LE Repair droid, you will be constantly stopping and waiting for him to catch up.

I created a Probot droid with 3 combat modules, and 2 auto-repir mods, gave it a lvl 6 armor, and sent it out to take on a savage humbaba. It won the battle in about 2 minutes and healed itself the enitre time. Great droid, it is now my guardian while I am out checking harvesters and such.

I like the R3 Tank droid, with 1 combat and 5 autorepair. It will autorepair as fast as that probot, will do a bit more damage, has higher HAM (4.5k vs 3.2k) and has both a ranged and melee attack.
