I just actually found the 200k stack of tolium I bought3 months or so ago and discovered it makes half decent detination modules. So for the first time ever I have managed to make to MSE det power 36 units. However, my question is - Is it worth stocking 16 det power units? Selling them at half the price I appreciate they would appeal to BH's just starting out.
Thanks all.

i did when they first came out, but they stayed on my vendor for ever. The ADV Mse's are so economical to make, you might as well just stick with them. I think most BH's will want the extra umph anyway.

NP, but i did think of one use I had for them. I gave about 20 of them away to people at the star-ports. Most were pleased to see how much damage the small MSE's do, and then you tell them how much an ADV MSE or R-3 could do. I usually recieved an order right there on the spot (for the ADV or R-3's).

I don't know if you made MSE's or ADV MSE's, but I just assume ADV MSE's. My opinion is the only thing a regularMSE is good for is item storage. Also in my opinion is R3 ADV are the way to go...esp. if you can build a good det mod. When I tell people (about my 59 rated) 2950 PvP, 11800 PvE, the response is "Wow!!! How many can you make?"
Another thing to consider is stealth. Since these are mostly used as jedi killers, the jedi are becoming aware of MSE or R3 coming at them. For roughly the same complexity and slightly less cost, a loaded ADV Probot can hold 5 det mods. Less damage, but (in theory) increased chance of inflicting that damage. I personally haven't tested the hypothesis, but I'm intrigued by the idea, nonetheless. I may give a free loaded probot to a BH that buys from me and get them to test it. 1) they will tell me if it's worth it, 2) builds good will and they will spread the word (I only say that because hegot me 2 more regular customers).

I've been a master DE for a few weeks now. I've got 3 BH that I cater to - they each buy roughlyfive 59 rated R3's a week (making me one rich fool). However, if it were not for them, I haven't sold any bomb droids. Depending on your costs or supply of other good materials to make a decent det mod, I'd run100 or so, and make a few R3's and a few MSEs. Advertise some on your galaxy trade forum or at a starport and see if you get anyone to purchase off your vendor, or better yet, send you an order for a mass quantity. If your stock sells and/or you start getting orders for more, then you'll know.

Thanks again.

I sell MSE bomb droids made from my worse resources, and i call them (Practice Droids). I figure up and coming BH's, can use these on there NPC marks and get a feel for the little buggers. These usually sell well and i still make a profit from them. My best stuff i reserve for the R3's, the ones who really make a differnce in battle.

I agree that the "stealth" arguement for using Probots is a valid one, but it's still not a big market, here is why.
You get one chance to incap the Jedi, that's it, just one. He will either heal (including his mind,) or run away, and you can't catch him. So you need to make that first bang count, it's not possible to pay attention all the time, just need to get their guard down.
R3's are a little obvious, but at the same time, they are also the most widely used droids. Plenty of ways to set traps with them, I know BH's who leave them for hours next to mission terminals that their marks hang out at, even leave them next to a commonly used buff bot.

I have a BH that asks for all type of driods to be made into bombs. One in particalar was the LE Repiar driod. I made up a couple gave them to the BH, and waited for the results.
Apparently....they worked VERY well in the stealth factor. The BH was able to get the Jedi down in health, while the LE reapir driod was out the whole time. The BH had the driod stand near a Buffing doc, and then called it over and set it off before the Jedi could react....killing him.
After the fight the Jedi sent the BH a few tells, saying that it was a sneaky trick....he saw the driod...but didnt react...he assumed it was a healer driod...until it walked over to him, and blew off the rest of his health bar. I know specialize in making the "odd" bomb driods. a power driod....the protocol, ect....
