I've only played for a month, but was drawn in very heavily to the game right from the start. There was so much I wanted to do, I ended up creating 3 accounts so I could experience things at my pace, rather than have to rework a skill just because I found out I didn't like it. I managed to accrue myself a healthy some of cash via selling resources and finally got to MDE. I was also working on a CH/pistoleer and my fiance was having fun with her own artisan. A month in, with enough playtime to realise how borked the crafting is for certain professions, and reviewing many posts by correspondents in the professions go without response by devs or anyone of importance: I'm bailing before I get too wrapped up into things. After talking with many advanced MDE's, and hearing the same things from them, and that they don't play much anymore just made it that much easier for my decision.
I hope that after the CU, crafting will see a boost, maybe even with the new expansion. This isn't something crafters should have to pay for though. They have been screwed over by all the other classes getting various upgrades/loot enhancements coupled with many schematics becoming bugged. These changes should be addressed in a timely fashion, with at least an indepth comment on the subject rather than a quick read with no response. Just from my short time being able to talk with the friends I made, I can tell it's the beginning of the end for some (if not the end already). I hope some day I can come back and enjoy a profession that works, and doesn't have several bugs to key schematics of the profession.
Sincerely,
-a formerplayer.
