I feel kinda bad because a guildmate of mine gave me a backpack to store in my house, because he didn't have the room. So I did. And then, well, I didn't log into the game for about a month or so. I came back, and I found that my houses were still there, because while I was gone, they started taking maintenance from my bank account, so I still had his stuff, but I guess he's not in the guild anymore. Not sure if he even plays or not anymore, but I feel kinda bad for effectively jacking his stuff.
But that sucks to hear what happened to you man. I'd probably cry if something like that happened to me. Like, real life, lie in the corner in the fetal position type crying.

I feel your pain.
At one point, my resource vendors vanished, they were gone for abotu 2 weeks. I literally felt sick. I had probably 20 million in the best resources on there.
Don't give up man.

Yeah, I am not going to do any rash descisions until I take some time off. I am just going to shoot some stuff in my spaceship for awhile... kinda takes the wind out of your sails to be honest.

Backstory of my SWG experience: Sunrunner DE here. Started back in August 2003. Was a DE from the beginning. Dropped the game due to the Jedi Grind (Long Story... but basically my Holocron told me I needed to be a BH). Started back up a few months ago and picked DE back up again.
Got my RL roommate to play the game and convinced him to place a house for me to store my stuff and keep my vendors (since he wanted to be a fighter).
There was my problem. I went away on a business trip for two weeks... and he deleted his character.
I came back and he was playing a new character (because he was bored with his other one). The house is gone, all my resources gone, all my products is gone, all my vendors is gone... everything gone.
I have 5mil in the bank (thankfully) but I lost everything short of:
My crappy backup FWG5
Two Factory Deeds (the harvesterswere in the house because I did not want them to be sucking money from me while I was away)
My January 2004 (yes 2004) Composite armor,
Backpack
Droid Battery with 3 charges
(Oh yeah, I also lost my Jedi Holocron back when I was grinding to find out what Class I should be... (the other I usedwas the free gift given back in the day) So this one had sentimental value. It served to remind me never to grind again)
The list goes on with what I lost, including all my veteran rewards.
Morale of the story: In order to have a decent house and be a crafter, you need to have a second account. If you don't, this can happen to you too when you least expect it. Even with people who are well intentioned (like your best friend roommate).
SOOOO... This game is getting less and less friendly... /soap box
- ADE with one account will no longer be able to compete... because:
- With the amount ofdifferent resources, schematics, subcomponents, you need at least a small/medium house... and even then it is snug.
- Therefore, they can only have minimal harvesting capabilities.
- Therefore, they have to buy materials from Resource Vendors.
- Therefore, their prices will be higher than Resource Harvesting Vendor.
- Unless, they use their roommates account/buy another account/trust another player to place a house/use their lots for havesting.
- Unfortunately, there is a lot of complications with above (including what happened to me). Which can result in loss of product/money/components.
- Which, inehrently raises a players prices.
- BECAUSE of the massive Vendor Search, that player will never be able to recover the costs again.

Now, I am going to have to drop DE because I cannot start all over again. Getting the Harvesters, housing, everything is going to take a couple of months. I just cannot do this any more. I stocked up the best resources on my galaxy. Had the best tollium (200k+), the best Copper (1,000k+), and the best Inert Gas (1,500K+), the best Chemical (2,000K+) as well as a grip load of other materials. By the way, this is NOT a cry for hand-outs. I know for a fact that if I asked for them, the DE would provide me with some materials to get me up and going. This is why I love being a DE, because we are truly a community. More-so than any other class. I just have lost my drive to be a DE because of this.
This is not any fault of the Devs and I am not going to yell at them to return my stuff. I am just going to accept that I messed up and am going to work on other avenues.
I will still poke my head in and I will always support you guys and will always buy droids.

I don't know, the whole fetal position thing sounded about right, and I think Crying like a school girl might come in to play as well. That or turning to booze, or all 3. I'm on Sunrunner as well, if you ever need a droid look me up, On-i Choso, free of charge for all you've had to go through of course.

I do thank you for your offer of assistance. I just really want to get that off of my chest so that I can enjoy the game again. It sucks.
I think our community is truely unique and the best in the game. We are a community and are a group!
