Thread: Ideas for new modules and droid types.
I know there have been countless posts on ideas for new modules, droids, etc. I would like to use this thread to compile them into one place. Once that is done I will mirror the link on the correspondent board so I am sure the Droid DEV will see it. This will be an addendum to my top issue about Market feasibility.
NOTE: I understand we have other issues, etc. This is only for this particular one.

THis has all been hashed and I am not speaking ANYTHING that hasnt been spoke alreayd.
But these did stick in my head . . .
Surgical droids that heal dmg and wounds. Make a mod that allows us to stock it with med/stim packs and heal on command. Will do wounds if the corrospionding med module is installed. WIthout that, is just heals dmg.
A slicing module. I mean come on, R2 is H4x0r L33t in the movies. OK, so they dont slice, but offeres a slicing boost or the equivilent to a smuggler.
Harvester maintenance!
Whether it takes a new module, new droid, or they just use existing droids; I'd love to have droids pay maintenance, monitor/maintain power, and collect resources from harvesters. This would be waypoint-driven, so the droids would need a data module, and waypoints would have to be revised a bit so the harvester waypoint could be simply added its data bank. (currently data mods can't store waypoints)

Current situation:
People with administrative access choose "create vendor" from a House control panel, and a vendor miraculously appears in their inventory.
Proposed situation:
When a DE builds a droid with a "vendor module" installed, that droid may be placed as a vendor. The "vendor module" may only be installed in humanoid droids -- Surgical, LE Repair, and Protocol for example. Merchants could still use the existing "create a vendor from the panel" method, but this would give low-level Merchants (those without the ability to customize their vendors) some customization options. They could order a droid that has a certain color and chassis. The ability to rename their droids easier would also need to be added.
Ideally, a percentage of the vendor maintenance fee would go back to the DE who constructed the droid, but I give this a very low chance at passing
A weapon upgrade module. A module that takes a weaponsmith created weapon and allows it to be inserted into the weapon slot on a combat droid and upgrade its firepower.
most important we need experimentation on module to work on the effekt of modules. (also experimentaition up to 100 at master)
second we need the customisation tool to make DEs able to exchange modules on droids, this can further be extended to exchange of weapons and shildgenerators on combat droids (new use(also usefull for DEs in groups)and xp source for DEs)
what modules we need isnt really important, i just say as many as possible, the devs best know for themself which modules they can implement.
also i would like to see atleast one droidtype that only DEs can use to give them something unequiq and DEs should be able to call up 3 Droids at master to aid them with their job.
new uses for droids could be aid jobs of anykind (lowering maintance cost on buildings, getting ressources from harvestors, pure distract droids and alarm droids that warn from approaching enemys to ur position or a set position/objekt, talking should be added to protocol droids(player can command droid to say something over great distance, and they should be able languages only other protocol droids can translate (like entertainer language), building structures should take more time and droids should be able to speed it up, turrets that are like a droid only unable to move. transport droid (large storage no other functions). droids should be able to store a message, the droid can be send to someone and says i have a message for XXX. XXX says play message and the droid plays the message (advanced it can even give an hologravical picture of the message sender(not realtime). droids with strategic use on battlefields, there should be droids able to cover an small area with a shild(shild can collaps after an set amount of damage, no firering in and out), or 2 droids can build a energy barrier... there is so much to add, when there is enough time for, first we need the first points i think.
Off the top of my head...
Slicer Module - Grants a slicer a bonus to his or her slicing attempts. Perhaps allows them to work without tools as though they had them, but provides a bonus if they have the droid out and tools.
Entertainer Module - Allows an entertainer to heal mind wounds and BF anywhere in town or in a camp.
Pet Storage Module - Allows a CH or DE to keep extra pets, maybe limited to like 10 at L6. Would allow CHs to store more pets for those that collect and sell them, and allow DEs to keep extra models for display purposes?
Droid Healing Module - Something to repair the white damage on Droids.
As for new types...
Droideka - Maybe make it as strong as a pre-nerf Probot of CL15 pet for the time being, until they were out how to allow players to have stronger droids. Even at that an equivalent pet will always be stronger because it can be healed.
Honestly though the current array of droids is pretty good - I'd rather have them all fixed before they add new types. If they restricted module usage some and fixed some of the specialized droids it'd go a lot towards helping diversity as opposed to the "what modules do you want and what shape droid to you want them in?" we have now.
I.e. MSE droids can only store Items and Data, Surgical Droids have an inherent healing mod higher than L6 Med, Repair Droids repair better than a droid with a Repair Module, only Astromechs can have crafting stations, Combat Droids can't have service modules, etc.
1) Harvester Droids!
There are two kinds listed in the book 'Star Wars, the Essential Guide to Droids'.
2) Droid Missions (So we can send stuff to people. -- Ideally allow them to do secure trades.)
Allow Access Storage Bill (Allow my friend, Bill, to have access to the droid's storage module.)
Goto Waypont 1. Pause 120 (seconds)
Deny Access Storage Bill
Allow Access Storage Linda
Goto Waypoint 2. Pause 300
Deny Access Storage Linda
Goto Waypoint Home.
3) Droid Specialization!
Surgical Droids should be the ONLY droids with medical modules. Repair Droids should be the ONLY droids with repair modules. Every droid should have at least ONE purpose, (with the possible exception of C3PO and R2D2, since it wouldn't be Star Wars without them, but R2D2 should be required on a starship.)
Since the other poster mentioned it: Ad Barking Droids! Allow 3PO droids to run around town barking out ads, of the user's choice.

Allow the surgical droid to heal black bar HAM up to HALF its entire length. This way, if you're caught in the field without a place to register your clone, you can still continue the mission with half your strength. Use a doctor for the remaining half.
Alternatively, allow the surgical droid to heal the WHITE BAR damage, so you can continue to fight faster than you otherwise would.
