I can't find or jsut havent seen any info regarding the resource requirements for the new modules and segments going into droids... if anyone from TC or anything else can post the resource requ and any specific resource types that may be needed i would appreciate it.. many people may want to pile up resources in case a necessary type stops spawning jsut before the pub...

Publish 7 isn't supposed to hit TC until the first week of March, from what I've heard.

They won't tell us until it hits TC. However, Drashk has posted that the requirements for Probots (presumably the added combat modules) are definately going up and suggested that we stock up - which means prices will go up as well. It doesn't seem likely that the final Probot will change since it was just "enhanced" a couple of patches ago, soI'm taking the advice and stocking up now - I just hope I don't get screwed over and they don't work, LOL.

*chuckles maturely* ... -Oh kids today, so gullable and cute. You actually think they've gotten as far as resource-requirements and schematics?

Pssst... be careful, the positivity police may come a knocking on your door with posts like that.

Asking us to stock up on probots is all well and good but if their damage output is less than those with excellently experimented combat modules people simply wont want them. it's been my experience that when dealing with droids people always ask for the 'best' due to the relatively low price tag!

What are you talking about Pooka? Surely their grand-plan for the DE profession has been in place for many months and isn't simply a whole lot of nothing like it appears on the surface. Have faith! They aren't rushing right now to finish things just to add a line to the patch notes for DE's that sounds good.

Sorry, that was itching like heck. Anyway, now that I've re-read the stuff about Publish 7, this is what I gather :

1) They are stripping inherent combat abilities from Probots

2) They are giving us back those combat abilities by making them require combat modules

3) These combat modules can also be used in other droids

So, in a nutshell, nothing is changing with combat droids, justnow they will be more difficult to make(this is why they have specified "this is just the ground work for later combat droids), and now we can stick a combat module in an R2 (we think - this is still unclear).

Both of these things SPECIFICLY go against our stated wishes (uniqueness of chasis and blasters straped to utility droids), and neitherof which equal a "droid invasion". And although I tried very hard to be optimistic about the utility droids, none of them seem like any use at all. They should be assisting us with current needs in the game, not trying to create a new need (blowing smoke up entertainers, er, smoking for enterianers and blowing up MSEs) just to fill up space in our crafting tool. Instead of giving us this "huge two-part droid invasion!" I'm honestly just wishing they'll say "this is the DE profession - yeah we told you eventually we'd make you into so much more than you are now, but have realized that it ain't gonna happen. Go try Chef. We just fixed them up real good!" so I can just give up and get it over with without having to wait another two months.
