Thread: So, why no DH profession?
The complete answer is the dev's didn't tell us what our options were. What most wanted was a certification system with skill point expenditure at each master level allowing for combat droids. That way anyone and everyone could control a combat droid if they spent the points to have one. Then TH came up with this DH class and everyone said no way, we don't want that, we want the cert system.
Well, the Dev's just ended up canning all the high level combat droids instead of coming in and telling us that the Cert system was not doable. If they would have said, "We can't do the Certifications and here is why....." I think people would have bitched and moaned, but got around to accepting the DH class. It may happen sometime in the future, but who knows.

Ok I gotcha now, a certification system would be much cooler to have in place. It just really sucks the devs found ANOTHER way to put off what everyone really wants.
Well, techincally, the majority didn't want the DH profession. It was their intent to release something along those lines and the community here (not just DE's but all players) vocally turned it down. So they listened to the majority and discontinued the idea of the profession.

I wrote about three paragraphs and realized that the original poster can just go look at the "Help me understand your change of heart" thread by TH...where it is clearly explained how we did not have a change of heart, but the devs needed to change their hearing aid.

Apparently all their hearing aids were saying *Low Power*

1. Cert System - Most popular - DEV's killed this one as unbalanced and not possible to resolve.
2. Add droid controlling as a branch of the existing DE profession - Second most popular - DEV's never even replied or even acknowledge it at all. No explaination why by the DEV (shut up pure crafties) as to why this hasnt been considered. Would have allowed non-crafters to invest some skill in the artisan and droid engineering profession in order to control better than CL10 combat droids. Also allows Master droid engineers to control the strongest combat droids and gives them the flexibilty to do more than just pure crafting with their DE skills.
3. Droid Command - Least popular - Seems to be the one the correspondent and the DEV's still intend to ram down our throats against our better judgement and wishes.
But seems that the DEV's bowed up their backs and decided to give us CL10 combat droids to spite us for objections to the Droid Commander profession and our refusal to accept a model that has already proven itself a failure in its first implementation in other professions.
