Thread: DE do they really listen

I've been playing since beta 3 i master DE then but after mastering DE i thought i'ld never do it again but then i heard they were going to redo the DE profession and since my 4th holocron said to master DE i was pretty happy about it.
So i grinded away till i was master and thought i'ld give up on opening my FS so i could make and control new and better droid, now i've been reading these boards for awhile and read some very interesting ideas about how they could add new combat droids and modules to make droids interesting and useable for everyone, like slicing mod for R2 units since i'm sure R2D2 did that a few times in the moives.
Anyway my point is this i just posted Noon the poll for the droid handler profession and i took the time to scroll over the posts and to me it seem that the No's have it hands down, but will they listen toDE's.
Yes i want to make droids that others can use but i also want to be able to control those droids awell
it's been said they are redoing the combatsystem so let the DEV's take low lvl combat droids into account, besides i'ld hate to see hundreds of combat droids running aroundeverywhere.
I also wanted to say i saw the changes coming in for jedi and it would seem that you really listened to what most people have been wanting and i'll gladly wait to open my FS after that comes in, so please listen to what alot of DE's want so i can look forward to playing alot more again instead of just giving up and moving on to something else.

what would make u happy would be if boxes and xp from DE carry over to DH right? i think the devs can do this or lets us make a ingame choice where we wanna go.
its not possible to give DEs combat abilitys as the community ranted against this idea to a great extend.

I just went over the poll that TheRealTK421 started about if DE's want a droid handler profession because i wanted to count up the numbers and it's not even close the NO's have it,yes isn't even in the race.
So my question is where do Drashk and Thunderheart get there numbers from as to saying DE's want to stay a crafting only profession?
Ithink the reason DEV's want to bring it in is because most people want to be able to use combat so i'm betting they think if they bring in a droid handler profession most people spent some skill points into that tree to have some kind of combat droid, after which the place will be over run with combat droids.
I can't see why i can't make a basic low lvl combat droid melee or rangedthat looks like an IG-88 with no weapon in hand and some one buys it and puts a T21 in it's hands if they want or a melee weapon anyway you look at it combat droids will unbalance alot of professions so i think the easiest thing to do is make high lvl combat droids DE only

IIRC past polls have indicated, as well as the vast majority of the responses I saw when the First DE plan was proposed, that most DEs wanted to stay a crafting only class.

Hasn't that changed alot you only have to look at that poll to see it hasi've been playing less and less because of all the miss information we seem to get and that's my choice of course.
But i will say this when i first got my beta CD's and i read about the different professions i thought to myself i hope i can build an IG-88 and use it and that i could build a medic droid that could healme thingslike that but i can't understand why they can't leave high lvl combat droids DE only and droids like medic droids medic and doc only which if they had a hospital they could place in there and had a menu on it where if no pc was around you could pay the medic droid to heal you with stim and wound packs the doc has placed in him or and R2 unit that smugglers could use to help with there slicing, a repair droid which anyone could have that can repair at-st or swoop bikes and one would a be merchant who could buy a higher lvl combat droid for protection **edit** i guess i would prefer a cert system of some kind

Naw... I don't get the sense that it has changed much at all. Most DEs want to be able to sell their product to the general public. I get the sense more and more that DEs don't want Combat droids as much as they want more functionality from droids overall.

Yea i have to agree with ya i want more and better uses for droids than i want to be able to use a combat droid but after thinking about i really think a cert system could work but base the cert system around droids as in to make a medic droid work you need to be a medic and les say a R2 unit with a slicing mod could only be used by a smuggler or droid with a lvl 20 or 25 could only be used by a merchant or politician with a skill lvl of 50 or so i mean the droid wouldn't work unless you had the right skills to use it and DE could make the mods and place them in the droid at sale anyway i'm going do alot more reading and thinking about it in the hopes that droids get more uses
