When I read TH saying he was told the majority said "crafter only"..... I put my stats cap on...

Sorryfolks - even I dont like statistics BUT lets show some facts - I cant seem to find em anywhere..... (for example: even though I am just a sample of 1, I dont remember even being polled ! )

Can ANYONE answer the make up of this "majority" - out the population of DE what percent even ANSWERED the poll "Crafter Only"?How long have they been playing (ie-how well do they understand the game mechanics/balance) How many were NOT DE? etc,etc,etc Was the question clear ? or did folks just not want to become/replace a CH type class.

Why cant a simple VOTE be done (not forum thread, REAL vote button)- now that ALOT of folks are paying attention vs just a *vocal* few.

I have seen some well thought out proposals/alternatives in the last few days - heck put them to a vote. I think everyone understands this is not a true democracy - swg coders have final say - but we can at least try.

Ask DEs if they want to be mainly crafters and the majority say yes. Ask DEs if they want to be able to use all their droids and the majority again says yes. The idea of DEs not bing able to use droids is ridciulous. Medic droids and BH droids are another story.

when the devs brought up the combat droid issue nearly all where against it, funny most of them are now against all other changes also.

now they have disappeared? wrong, they have just changed their mind to be against the new ideas. and im sure they will be against combat ability for DEs again if we get the option back.

the small community of DEs that have endured those past 6 months seam to are so fixed on no changes for DEs that they now dont want anything to be changed. i see arguments like the profession has to stay unatractiv so no new players join in and make it difficultier to compete on the market and stuff like this are to only arguments used for contra sides. noone thinks about bringing good ideas or solutions just saying no is nonesense. if u say no to something u have to bring up an alternativ (working) or to explain why having nothing is better than what ur against. i would ignore all other posts as a dev.

I have been following the DE profession since I bought the game, as I wanted to be a DE too. WHen I found out this was only a crafter class that made unpopular droids I was a bit let down. Then I found out combat droids were going to be comming out soon. Once this word leaked out there were hordes of DE's proclaiming that they wanted nothing to do with combat and only wanted to be a crafter class. Now they are crying because they got thier wish and will only be a crafter class. Cant have it both ways. You ppl should have made up your minds long ago. Why did you all make it sound as if you only wanted to be a crafter class if in fact thats not all you wanted to be?

BTW Im not trying to start an argument I just want to know why you all said you wanted only to be a crafting class before and now have changed your minds.

You cant have it both ways...

I think i have to agree with sosusred here. Every time i visited the forums, the posts that stood out to me were the ones maintaining that de's were pure crafters that should have nothing to do with combat. Now this was several months ago, before the DH craze began.

My opinion was forwith those who wanted to make de a hybrid profession, and began grinding out DE. I gave up in frustration after hearing reiteration after reiteration of "we're pure crafters", "we don't need to add combat bonuses to a crafting profession", and "let everyone who wants to fight with pets be a CH instead".

Thats why i'm now supporting the DH proposal. If theres a reversal of sentiment on DE becoming a hybrid combat/crafting profession, i'd be open to considering that a equal option to DH, if it's applied properly, and doesnt gate the cl of combat droids at some obscenely low number. The danger is creating a too powerful DE profession and having it be flavor of the month.

You missed the entire point. We want to use all our droids, but we don't want combat BONOUSES! Lets say that again: we don't want combat BONOUSES! We would like to call our droideka, and have the kill for us, but we don't want modifiers to make us a combat class (i.e. def. vs. ranged, accuracy, knockdown def. etc.). Is it really that hard to understand?
