Make a droid control module/remote control DE’s make it at master?
Its thing you hold in your hand to control the droid when you have a high lvl droid, or more then one droid. You must not be in combat when controlling them, and it works something like a survey tool but with a list of the droids commands.
This makes droids more difficult to use in combat but still lets any one use them.

Or it could be a piece of clothing you ware like a hat and will take the place of some armor.
