this would let you do a few cool things
at a glance you can see your droids status
there should be a very slow drain to the power (mind) when ever the droid is out and active
if the droids power hits 0 its shut down (not dead)
batteries heal back the power (mind) bar like a simpack
if a droid did a special move it could use up more power
when it fires in combat it uses a little power
some droids could have a huge mind bar so they hold a bigger charge

I got one more idea along this line but it would be hard to do

have the power droid share its power (mind) with near by droids.
so a combat droid can be recharged with the mind of the power droid with a comand or somthing

These have been argued for months. Well, the subject on why we can't see a Droid's power level. There have been many suggestions, but so far the devs have ignored it for the most part. CH's can see their pet's vitality, why can't we? We are in the dark on a Droid's power level until we get that dreaded *low power* message. Then it's too late. The Droid is empty and shuts down. Plus Droid Batteries are pretty poor, lasting very little time when used. I had a Probot once that I used a battery on, and 15 minutes later he was out again. What is that about?

As far as Power Droids, they've joined Binary Lifters as the Droids with absolutely no function. Yes, the logical thing to use a Power Droid for is POWER, but I don't think the devs see that. Then again, you can stick medical modules inside an R2 unit......
