Thread: A Few Droid Questions

I have a droid with a Barker module. I find that it auto stores very frequently. Is this a known bug? Any way to avoid this? I'm beginning to feel that it wasn't worth the skill points, since my advertising rarely lasts more than an hour?
Also if I stay in range (and he doesn't auto store) the battery only lasts a about an hour. If I'm out of range it lasts a lot longer. However he auto stores more often if I'm out of range. I thought this feature was supposed to free me up and allow me to advertise while doing other things. I find myself having to babysit my barker.
One final question. I can't seem to get Patroling to work. First I Clear Patrol Points. Have droid follow me. Get to point A. Command him to Get Patrol Point. He follows me to point B. Command him to Get Patrol Point. Then command him to Patrol and he just continues to follow me. What am I doing wrong?
I'm not 100% sure on this, but if you get the droid to patrol, you will no longer have the auto-store problem.
The droid auto-storing isn't a Barker Module problem, its a generic pet issue that effects all pets and droids. It occurs a lot less then it did a few publishes back, but it still happens and is just as annoying.
When programming your patrol points, make sure that you get a system message pop up that says that you have set the waypoint. Also make sure that your droid is charged and that you are issuing the exact command that is listed in the datapad. If the command that you are using is incorrect in any manner, such as capitalization or misspelling, it won't work correctly. 99.9% of the time, the problem with trying to use a command comes down to the command is still registed as having the name that was programed, or there is a capital being used where it shouldn't be. I would suggest re-programming the get patrol point command as 'get' and the partol command as 'go'. I set up a /tellpet get and a /tellpet go macro for just this function and haven't had a problem with my droid auto-storing.
Also, correct me if I'm wrong but I think that tellpet doesn't work with 1 letter command.
so, /tellpet P won't work.
The auto-store is annoying, and patrol does help. Taking a shuttle also seem to help.
I left a Player City because of that.
Spambot is not authorized in the city.
Patroling droids is not authorized in the city.
You now have 1% tax on every sales.
Bye bye.
But I have to say that they are quite effective as advertising. And the fact that they give the waypoint does help.
I think that some people are against them because they are against, without any thinking behind.
But I think that having a few (2 or 3) in front of the starport of theed, lots of people don't mind.
