Hey all!

Bounty hunter here inquiring about the bomb droids. I have seen them in action only once and they look like pretty powerful little guys. Can u all give mea bit more info on them? Like average damage, which droids work best, who they work the best on, etc etc?

I would GREATLY appreciate it

Thanks

Best bang for the buck: MSE. (2 modules, each garner +10 bonus for a total of +40 max). Cheapest by far, compared to the R3 Adv (6 modules, +60 max).

Blast damage, thus can stick them up against Faction turrets- if they survive the gauntlet run.

Not a smuggler/BH, thus can't give a better report.

An MSE with detonation power of 35 does about 6K dmg in PvE, 1.5K Dmg in PvP before armor apply.

A simple MSE with a power fo 17 does about half of that.

In PvE, MSE is great, give you a good start but is a little expensive.

In PvP, it does have a small problem : a max of 50 HAM and a count down of 3 second.

Other models with higher HAM can hold detonation module too, but will be much more expensive.

Each module eat 80 of Tolium gas also used by CM, and OQ does matter alot.

Hope that help.

I know it seems a no-brainer, but just like any other modules, make sure your droid engineer is stacking them fully for you. I've seen a lot of colleagues who, sadly, take advantage of the fact that those outside the profession often don't know what the ratings on the detonation actually equate to, and sell people droids with one module saying it's the cumulation of many.

You want a BIG ba-da-boom, or else it really isn't worth doing. I think there are sadly some people who tried once with substandard droids and modules and gave up too easy... I've had very satisfied customers with well packed explodo-droids. Heh.

Boom.

I've found that a good rule of thumb is to multiply the detonation rating of the droid by 150. This might be a bit low but it gives you a good idea on what kind of damage range to expect.

And if you're buying toaster bombs (aka MSE droids)
Check the detonation rating carefully and whether or not it is an MSE or Advance MSE. That makes a difference. The Advanced MSEs can make twice as big a boom.

Also check out the Exploding R3's. I haven't used one yet. But They look to make an Earth Shattering Kaboom. They are expensive though.
