Hi,
I am Swampsurfer, an up and coming Droid Engineer. I think this is the best time to start something like this, with the Droid Invasion just around the corner. What made me think of something like this is my loss at how to price my wares. I didn't really know what to charge for my items & felt there should be some way to create a formula for pricing & stick close to it. Still, I felt to do so, we would need to all pretty much stick together. This is the following pricing scheme I propose:
First off: I would like to get paid for my skills, so I propose we associate a flat rate for using a skill. I call this term the "Skill Level Credit Value" or "SLCrVal" It works as follows:
Novice Artisian skills: 0 credits
Level 1 skills: 100 credits
Level 2 skills: 200 credits
Level 3 skills: 400 credits
Level 4 skills: 800 credits
Master Artisian skills: 1000 credits
Novice Droid Engineer skills: 1000 credits
Level 1 DE skills: 2000 credits
Level 2 DE skills: 3000 credits
Level 3 DE skills: 4000 credits
Level 4 DE skills: 5000 credits
Master DE skills:10000 credits
Then any item created with a skill can be priced as such:
Suggested Retail Price =SLCrVal + [ 10% Complexity] [ (Avg CPU) (Resource Units) + (Cost of Sub-components) ]
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
An EXAMPLE would be the price for an: Advanced Droid Motive System.
Discussion: The complexity is listed as 28 and it can only be built once the player has Level 2 Blueprints. Therefore the SLCrVal for the skill used to create this item is 3,000 credits. Also, this part requires one Control Unit as a component part, using the same formula I am about to use, that comes to 1144 credits for the Control Unit. Also, it takes 43 assorted units of raw resources to build this item. Finally, figure the overall average CPU on the Tempest server for all resources is figured to be, say, 3 CPU.
Calculation: Suggested Retail Price = [3,000 credits] + [ 10% of 28 ] [ (3 credits/unit) (43 units) + (1144 credits) ]
=(3,000 credits)+ 2.8 (129 credits + 1144 credits)
= 3,000 credits + 2.8 ( 1,273credits)
= 3,000 credits +3,564.4 credits
aprox. = 6,564 credits
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have an excell spread sheet all fixed up to calculate this for us & I can publish it on the web, if we all agree to stick to the price scheme OR somewhere close to it. The prices calculated may sometimes come up to higher than what most are charging already, but with the increased interest in our products that the Droid Invasion may generate, we can afford to ask for these rates. The root of this price scheme relies on two key concepts. One is the increased pay off for higher skills & two is the Complexity of the item as listed by the game. I think this figure should be considered and the higher it is the greater the risk of resources involved in the creation (consider the critical error). If you think this sounds good, please post in this forum.
I am already in a guild & I am sure most of anyone interested is also in a guild, so forming a union will have to take place in an outside medium such as a website. If I am trying to recreate the wheel, PLEASE someone, let me know.
I don't know about you, but this the worst grind in the game, AND I want to get PAID ! ! !

Hi and welcome:
There are already DEnets in almost every server. Try to search for info regarding DEA and DEnet on this forum to know what they are and how they work

Yup...Ellesa's right. There's already an 'association' in place that links a good amount of the DEs on each server and in the whole game.

Check with your local DEs to find out who the DENet admin is on your server.
