Basically I am getting a message everytime I spawn my food/chem crafting R5 droid which says "your droids customizations have faded" or somethign on those lines. I figured it was because droids needed to be recharged...so I built a battery and recharged the droid however the message stll comes up. I tried crafting with him and he still works like food/chem crafting station even with that message coming up. What customizations are they talking about?

It is your droid's coloring. Nothing important. You can have any DE change the colors for you, but it will only last 20 times of calling your droid out before it fades again and you get that message again.

Your droid is an R-Series droid and the color customization kit will not work on it. You could change the color, but as soon as you store it it will start changing color again and you will get the same message.
This is a known issue, check the know issues post above to see the "known bugs".

This is not completely correct. If your droid is a very old droid, the color may not work (if they haven't already fixed that issue). Any droids built after the droid customization kits came out will take the color, but as posted above will only last 20 pulls out of inventory, then it starts to fade again.

Pulled this from Gorantoth post on known bugs with DE.
K.Droid customization isborked. No xp is gained from colouring droids, the colours don't always hold (use the first white box to reproduce). R# units have random colours when they are first tamed and randomly change until the droid is customized. The number of colours available with the customization tool are different than the colours available during crafting. New droids are reported to not be customizable (certain frames perhaps?)
This is where I got my info from if it has changed then someone needs to send him a message telling him the information needs to be updated.

Until an R series droid is painted, it comes out a random color each time it is pulled from inventory. Once it is painted, the colors will last for the 20 pulls. It used to be borked on theolder droids made before the color tool was in place. The colors wouldn't stick to the old droids, but it worked on the newly made ones. I don't know if the old droid color issue is fixed or not. I don't have any old guys left to check it out.

I have a REALLY oldR5 in my Datapad, that I keep for sentimental reasons, and the coloring will not stick. I can paint him, but after I store him once, it reverts back to the original gray color when called. I have been tempted to replace him recently, but I just can't bring myself to part with my first droid.
