Thread: Power Droids ROFLMAO

I'd heard that power droids were of limited use because of the one droid out at a time rule, and the fact that they themselves needed to be recharged after a limited number of recharges. Well, I wanted to build a nice one for mystelf and test it out before I put any on my vendor for sale.

Well...

I called my newly created power droid at 20:15 and promptly charged it with a high quality battery. At 20:20 my buddy pulled out his droid for me so that I could use the power droid to recharge it. Nice... it worked just fine. At 20:21 I gave my droid a command to take up a wedge formation... low power warning.

So, the power droid's own charge lasted exactly six minutes with one recharge in that timeframe using just about the best battery you can possible have.

This is about as silly as anything I can imagine. Was this deliberately designed like this by the developers working on droid engineer? If so... why even bother? If not... why not fix it as part of patch 7?

Your first mistake is to believe that there is anything deliberate about the way droids work.

Be glad for what DOES work, because it appears to be by sheerest accident.

My own personal belief is that droids were put off too long, and that whoever came up with the initial 'grand design for droids (if any)' is no longer involved with this project. The long-term errors and such are, IMHO, symptomatic of a lack of understanding by the developers who have been involved with droids for the past few months.

Taking a well-deserved vacation from his successful Droid Engineering business, Master Rho can be found puttering around the galaxy.
