I came up with a couple of ideas for utility modules last night. They both enhance both Droid Engineer and one other profession, grant no 'free checkers' and would require medium but not extreme programming effort (or should do, I have no idea how the SWG engine is structured).
1. Vehicle painting module. Artisans can craft vehicle customization kits so that people can paint their vehicles. Few people bother though because the paint fades so quickly. What if we had a vehicle painting module. A customer with a vehicle painting droid would be able to store a number of vehicle customization kits in the droid and choose the frame and trim colours they want. Every time they have both the droid and the vehicle out at the same time and the vehicle's customization has faded or is about to fade the droid will repaint it and use up the appropriate charges from the customization kit. More vehicle customization kits can be given to the droid at any time.
2. Home decorating module. Architects can craft decaying light sources. The concern is that nobody will use them after a while because of the hassle of repositioning the light sources every time they wear out. What if we had a home decorating module. A customer with a home decorating droid would be able to store a number of light sources in the droid. Every time they have the droid out in their house the droid will replace any decayed or soon to decay light sources with fresh ones of the same type from its hopper. More light sources can be given to the droid at any time.
Thoughts? Suggestions? Extensions?

I like the ideas, though I think the home decorating one might involve some pretty tricky AI... but its not for us to decide what is and what isn't too difficult to code, we just supply some ideas.

Thanks for these ideas.
I'll add them to my giant list but I'd have to suspect they will be unattractive since they are redundant to things/features already in the game.
I would guess that they want new module ideas to add something as-yet-unseen to the game world. This would likely make the modules more desirable as well.
Please do keep thinking of these sorts of things...more ideas is always good.
