Interesting ideas . . . Unfortunately, your solution to generic crafting skill gains addresses none of the issues DEs have. I don't think anybody actually enjoys creating thousands of MSE droids. But we do it, and move on . . .

. . . make it so that it takes 10 times the time to make and 10 times the xp thats given for example . . .

Lend me some of your lots so we can make some combat modules together . . . you wouldn't mind if EACH one took 40 minutes instead of 4, would you? That's over 3 hours and 20 minutes, just for the combat modules to make each probot . . .

Voco

P.S. Droids are [currently] neither crafting tools nor factories . . . "the crafter can create a second set of components and set it in the droids "to do" list"

k obviously i didnt make it clear enough.

Parts of droids take just as long as they do already.

Once all the parts are made, the final droid can be created by putting it on a seperate droid/crafting stations "to do" list that is located inside the Workshop.

THATS what takes a long time to create. After that process has finished being initiated, then the DE can create those parts again without having to wait for the other job to be done. After those second set of parts are done being created, the DE puts it on the seperate Droid/crafting station's "to do" list.

Hope that clears it up, Im not suggesting that it takes 10 times longer to create Droids parts, just the final creation of putting those parts together on a seperate entity. (The building droid/ Crafting station.)

Oh and for the P.S.

Im not suggesting that droids become factories or what not. I'm suggesting that they have a sort of "to do" list in such a fashion that it's like the crafting droid has an agenda to finish for the crafter in the workshop.

K, in a nutshell... The DE is sitting in the Workshop, builds all the pieces to the robot that takes the regular time as of the current time it takes to create parts for bots. The DE then pulls out a crafting droid or goes to the crafting station, and starts up the crafting session. He/she inserts the parts and selects create. It then takes a long time to create but yields much more xp. BUT while this is being created, the DE can create a second set of parts because the Droid or crafting station is finishing up YOUR creation.

BTW every player that adds something to a general crafting station's "to do" list, it piles up with other players creations that must be made, which is another reason why i request a workshop so that there can be numerous crafting station.

After the creation is done, then the crafter can then go to the crafting station and retrieve that creation.

This frees up more time for the DE while yielding the same amount of xp, for less the resource. Just a way to make it so that it doesnt take thousands of MSE droids to just get one skill box...

If it is still unclear or sounds really dumb then i have failed at explaining it correctly and please notify me if any of those two are the result of this.

Tell me again how experience gain is a bigger problem than being able to create useful droids? (Apologies here: I didn't thoroughly read the workshop idea -- is that where viable combat droids are produced?)

hehe, well, what I wanna do is not really fix all the DE's problems, I want the whole crafting professions, even Armorsmith, weaponsmith, Architect and Droid Engineer to have more appeal and currently grinding is the unappealing part of it all.

By making it so that in a workshop DE's and all other Artisan professions save possibly Chef (lol who wants their food made next to bot lubricant) it can be a whole lot easier and less time consuming. Not to mention the huge amount of basic items, waste of valuable resource and time.

So as the example for DE, the DE goes in, builds all the parts to the bot which takes regular time to create in their personal crafting stations. Then they activate the crafting station/building droid and put all the parts into the quo. When the crafting station gets to your project, it starts the crafting process while you, the DE doesnt have to be there. Even when the quo is being filtered and yours hasnt even reached building stage, you, the DE, can create a second set of parts to create another quo for that same bot.

So even though bots take a lot longer to create and yield more xp, which is more appealing, you dont even have to be their or waste time waiting for the bot to be created.

Not sure if I cleared it up.

oh and btw, you just retrieve it from that crafting stationwhen its done. It stays their for pick up for several days which after becomes property of the Jawa's

Also, Droids that build in the same fashion as crafting stations in the workshop can also hold this quo, the difference is that those droids must be stationary while building but dont have to be in the workshop. They also dont get the same boosts while in the workshop.

So, you can build out on the street but your droid has to be stationary for creation, you can leave and do things while your droid assembles your creation and doesnt get the same boosts in the workshop.

. . . and currently grinding is the unappealing part of it all.. .

Are you sure about that? Have I missed the glamour of being an MDE?

people like grinding thousands of MSE droids on the streets and in their pockets?

No my friend,

Nobody likes grinding out thousands of MSE droids, even fewer people want to grind out thousands of MSE droids on their way to MDE, only to realize that becoming an MDE is not really worth it . . .

Do you understand this yet? No matter how quickly, or slowly, the experience comes, there is not a good reason to spend your time becoming an MDE. Tell me again which droid you've suggested would make all that grinding worth it?

hmm no i havent really been trying to make DE appealing in those aspects. What i ment was that reaching MDE would be quicker and less strenuous.

But from what you said it isn't worth it entirely. Hmm perhaps getting to MDE quicker and more effeciently would convince someone otherwise.
