Thread: FanFest Update: Droid Commander profession
I thought the general opinion of Droid Engineers is that they do not what a "Droid commander" profession.
Could opinions change?

they've been given an impossible task... the droid engineers generally don't want the droid commander profession (I still don't see whats wrong with it myself... assuming it goes in after all the other professions have gotten some attention) and yet the same group, as well as quite a bit of the rest of the players do want high level combat droids, which can't be done without the profession to control them (unless they were limited to essentially faction pets, not sure how hard they're looking at that). They're going with the droid commander idea because more players want high level combat droids than don't want a profession made to control them.
Personally I always thought DE should be the Droid Commander. I think they should be able to handle and control droids like none other... Max level pets for DE should be up as well as number kinda like a CH. Perhaps making Master DE able to control a Combat Droid
I also think BH should be the only other class able to handle more than 1 droid but not to the same degree as DE.
Though I suggested this before the Droid rebuild... so it might not work so well now.
BTW I am NOT a DE myself. ![]()
- Utility droid still need alot of work.
- Adding profession without adding skill point sux.
- In this time line, combat droid weren't supposed to exist, or in very limited quantities.
- Our current combat droid are very underestimated.
If they really want to add heavy combat droid, they should be rare, like for exemple, must be crafted in the Bunker, with looted schematics, and either usable by anyone or only by a few prof, like smuggler, squad leader and DE for exemple.
Not as hard to make as a full RIS armor, but somethinglike that.

Because, not like how the dev see them, droids are NOT pets.
They are not creatures.
They don't need to be tamed, they don't have to learn tricks.
It's not because the dev did a very lame copy past from pets to do droids that we have to do the same.
