Thread: Survey Droids aren't worth it.

Survey droids are not worth the sacrifice of both a use and a survey tool.

All they do is show you a list of what is on the planet, which is not worth the sacrifice of the use nor the sacrifice of the tool.

How about the first use works how it does now and gives you the email list of resources (still taking a droid and a survey tool) but the next use you can choose a specific resource from that emaillist and while it takes up yet another use and a tool you get an email with the quality levels of that particular resource. That would make them very useful, but not so useful that it will make surveying useless because a player surveyor willstill have to locate the resource.

Thanks for sharing, don't you think we've tried to make that point already?

Aye they should scrap the survey tool requirement. It is just annoying.

Can't you find an artisan friend to make you a crate or 2 of the tools? I mean come on they are cheap to make.

What you should have stated is...

"Survey droids aren't worth it..................to me."

I use mine. I love them. I just carefully consider the situations and such where they will be useful (like knowing when I need to go and pick up a harvester that's getting something that just despawned).

The usefulness in these is all about finding the situations where they will help you the most. Just like any other aspect of the game.

As for the Survey tool requirement...

I think this is fodder to be changed down the line (maybe).I figure most any Artisan that uses these would just make their own though.

/agree in regards to relative usefulness TK. I use mine exactly the same fashion.

I really hope the too requirement can change, its just a useless sort of time sink making sure i have tools made, or resources for tools on me, or blah. I think the complexity and subcomponent nature of the ISD make it easily justifiable that the Survey Tools abilities (for all types of tools) are pre programmed into the EMM and GP units which we use when making them.

I am a chef and I think you are wrong. I have to collect floral on many different planets. It is a huge cost to me to travel from Naboo to Dantooine or Endor just to check and see if myresources despawned yet. Now I can just send out a droid, wait awhile and see if I need to make a trip out there. That one droid just saved me about 7 to 8K in round trip travel costs and lots of time spent waiting for shuttles. I think that is totally worth it.

Before your revamp, I never once bought a droid. Now I plan to be a frequent customer.

BTW - along with my survey droids, I've been putting 10-packs of the survey tools on my vendor. This makes it handy for people (you can point the droid at a survey tool *crate*) and makes a few credits also.

I do the same thing. They sell here and there and for the most part, the guys that buy the droids buy the tools. I don't gouge anyone on prices for them and it seems a pretty pleasant relationship with my customers.

Yeah they could make the tools - but yeah they could also fly to the planets. Chances are, if they are using the droids they have other things to be doing
