When are we going to get our good looking combat model... wheres are mecha rancor or whatever. People look at the rancor and they are like uhoh, people look at the r3 and say whats it going to do attack me with an espresso. We need a cool looking robot thats as strong as a rancor... maybe a ten foot tall robot with chainsaw arms and laser eys or something for the love of all that is good give us something thatll strike fear into the hearts of our enemies and make people every where want one. This is my first post so if ya hear me and agree lemme know.
thanks

10 feet tall with laser eyes and chainsaw arms?

This is Star Wars, dude...not BattleBots or Mobile Suit Gundam.

The devs have stated several times that dedicated combat droids will not be added to the game for Droid Engineers to use. As a matter of fact, a few months ago, the devs planned to add a brand new Droid Commander profession specifically for using combat droids. It would have been the mechanical equivalent to Creature Handler. But, after much debate, it was finally decided that Droid Commander (and high-level combat droids) were feasible additions to the game at this point in time. There simply cannot be a player-controlled uber-droid that can "pwn" practically everything else, save perhaps the Krayt Dragon. It would completely unbalance an already bugged and inconsistent combat system.

Listen i dont care what it is its also a game and droid engies lack something flashy like a rancor to really sell... i dont mean literally ten foot tall ect... but just something that people see other people using and get green with envy. I see a rancor im like hey thats pretty sweet. I want something that people look at and say wow i want one heres 60k.

thanks

ok, i'm with you on this to a degree, COmbat droids are needed, and i dont mean the R4 with the trusty Mellon Baller, i'm sorry but thta was just a pathetic waste of a publish there. Look at the Combat Droids in Episode 1, they were flawed, they were pathetic....they were taken out by a Gungan with a glowing ball, and not just any Gungan, a crazy, anoying and just plain stupid Gungan at that. Now, i dont think Super Battle Droids would be a good idea for ingame "Combat Droid Pets" but the normal, little yellow tiki guys would be cool, along with the Droidika. Heres a little idea.

We already have the Probe Droids, they can be useful to a degree, normally as cannon fodder but oh well;

Adding the Standard Battle Droid would work, give it something between 6-8K ham, a basic damamge quote of lets say about 200 points *for the choice of weapon*. They wouldnt be "pwn"'ing people....btw **edit** is "pwn"'ing?..anyways, the Ham and Damagequote would be a given to the resources used, and experimentation. Weapons wise, just to make it fun, only let them use what a Master Marksman could use, not a commando, bounty hunter, rifleman.And just to really make it interesting, have the "owner" actually have to supply the droid with a weapon, hence making it more fair to the opponent.

Droidika's, well, heres the fun part, DK's are basically walking tanks for the most part, so....heres my idea;

Droidikas are a mix of weapons and shields, with a droid frame, so why not make it a mix job? Have the basic droid armour plateing, but also have the "person sheilds" that armoursmiths can make, and have the weapons components craftable by weaponsmiths? that way some money has to be spent making them, or the schematics for the DE to have them made for him/her self *see, i;m not sexist, i know women play this game too* A DK could, in essence, be the droid version of a Grand Wrix...11-14K ham, *yet again being decided on the resources used and the experimentation* and a damamge of 300-400 from the weapons they use *being built in, these are lost along with the droid on its final death*

I admit, there are many more combat droids out there, i'd love to see a IG - "Assasin" droid working alongside a MASTER Bounty Hunter, a pair of standard Battle Droids playing "bodyguard" to a Master Brown Snout...er i mean Politician, a Master Commando taking out a base with a trusty Droidika, it would make a change from seeing a Rancor taking out a herd of creatures while the owner sits all safe a pretty *not jabbin at Creature Handlers here, i've seen many a CH go in with they're pets and get dirty*.

Anyways, just an idea, i'm gonna work out a full idea for this later as i'm in the middle of hell trying to get my nephews away from my girlfriends dog. Anyways, as i said, i shall post a full idea on this subject as soon as i can.

I like the ideas i think it sounds cool... most classes are getting their own models anyway why not take the enxt step... we could really kcik the DE economy nito gear and make some cool gameplay too... I wouldnt want the droids to be as strong as a rancor but whos scared of an r3 honestly jsut give us something to make poeople quake in their boots... after all if people cant pull out more than one give us something thatll make people stop for a second and look.

thanks

I completely agree with the combat setup you just talked about. I like the idea of having the droideka have standard shielding that a DE would provide and then again with exp/resources you can increase or decrease the damage on it and ham. Then maybe have the WS give you a mod or weapon that can be attached as an added weapon or boost to its current weapons (like a powerup). And then bring in AS to supply specific droid personal shields. ( i think any droid should be capable of using these) it takes good resources to make and its a shame to see your work get blown up . I know it makes me richer by having someone come back and buy another , but i'd rather see someone get the use out of it first before they run back to me an hour later and say they need another one.
