I made a crate of General Socket Clusters containing, a food crafting station, level 6 medic module, and level 6 storage module, with the intention of making a runof R2 units (non-advanced)for medics.
But...
For some reason none of my schematics will recognise the crate of General Socket Clusters, they recognise all the other components, just not that one.
The schematic says:
General Droid Module Package (optional)
Requires 1 Combat Capable Socket Cluster
Does that mean I can only use combat modules in sockets?
Help!

No, it means that the "General Droid Module Package" will only accept a "Combat-Capable Socket Cluster." There's much confusion about this simply because of the names of the two clusters, but you CAN put general-use functions like medical or crafting stations into combat-capable socket clusters (CCSC). Just use the CCSC's instead of the "general socket clusters" because I think (someone correct me if I'm wrong here) the general ones will only go in things like surgical droids and protocols, or are bugged completely.

and there was me thinking combat sockets would only accept combat modules. how foolish.
thanks for the advice though, guess I'll make a run of surgical droids

Be prepared for the Item storage to be useless in a Surgical droid... I made the same error 3 weeks ago. I have them sitting crated until the problem gets fixed, but I don't recommend trying to sell them.

The general socket clusters do not work for any of the droids. They don't show up in the schematics for the deeds, chassis, etc. Not even the MSE droids that say they will accept them. I've wasted a lot of time and resources before realizing this bug. Don't use these they're bugged and useless!

any storage thats put into the med droids dont work, they are bugged. It worked for about a day. I crafted one for a guild member and it worked the first day and there after wont. The general cluster that you can put 3 mods into havent worked for a while. I made the same mistake when I became a DE about a month ago. I've used combat clusters in all my droids since and they have worked. Also the maintainence mods are bugged as well. I'm thinking some crafting stations are as well because I know I put a weapon c.s. in one and my master WS said it doesnt work. Just a heads up of what I've experienced.

Don't worry i did the same thing a while back, sad thing is, when i sent in a ticket, the csr couldn't give me any information and hadn't suggested putting gens in combat clusters, he simply said there were no way to socket gen clusters any more. No plans to fix as i was told.
