I sold to a medic a R2 unit with a food/chem crafting station and 2 LVL4 Med modules for a total med rating of 110. I got an e-mail from the guy saying that the MED droid doesn't allow him to heal wounds. I haven't examined the droid yet, but I'm very surprised since I've never recieved a negative report about MED droid before.

Have any of you seen a problem like this before? Can it be related to the med modules be in the cluster module of the R2? My guess is that this is just a misunderstanding on the droid operation.

I'll appreciate your feedback

I have seen this happening once or twice. The times that I've seen it, it wasn't that the droid wasn't working it was due to one of a couple of situations. First, there are a few glitches in the world geometry that trick the system into thinking the medic is too far away from the droid for the med modules to work. Kind of annoying, but easy enough to fix...just walk around a little bit and I've seen it go away. The second possibility is that the medic is trying to heal in a place he shouldn't...namely the cantina. I got a very similar message from someone a few minutes after I sold him a droid and he was trying to do it in the cantina, which you can't do...or at least you couldn't do it at the time, which I assume is still the case.

Now, was either of these things the case in the particular instance of your customer? I have no way of knowing, but it might be.

Usual culprit is being in a catina or hotel (or very recently) with the droid out. They also have to be able to heal wounds normally! I had one customer who didn't even have medical skills and complained about not being able to heal wounds, and another who wasn't even able to use buffpacks yet. Just two things to check out.

Thanks, this looks like the most likely explanation. When I finally meet with the guy I'll check the location in which he is doing his healing. I know for sure that he has medical skills, so that should not be the issue.

Yet another reason I prefer to do custom orders. I can meet with my customer and have them tame the droid right there at my house, and we run outside to do tests.

I often combat the local animals just to get a bit of wound damage before delivering a medical droid.

I've also found some bugs with the med modules stop working in some situations. First and foremost is after the droid has been incapped in battle (typically a probot). All functions on the droid stop at that point so you need to store and call to reset it. Another one is if the droid runs out of power. After recharging, the functionality comes back again.

That's not a bug. Anything that uses power in the droid like the medical module, crafting stations, and repair modules, stops functioning when a droid is low on power.Combat capable droids will also not attack when low on power.

Well to close the issue, the customer sent me a tell saying that the droid worked after all. I guess he was using it in a cantina and didn't bother to try it elsewhwere before sending the e-mail asking for a refund. Customer stupidity, just another instance in which SGW is too close RL.

Thanks all for your input
