A friend of mine had an idea for a new droid type, so I thought I'd post it here to see what you all think. I apologize if someone has already proposed this - I'm not a DE and don't keep up with this forum.

You can currently craft seeker droids that Bounty Hunters use to track down their marks. What if you had the ability to craft a similar droid that would instead find a resource concentration? It would be disposable like the seeker droid (though perhaps only one use per droid instead of 10), which would be good for your economy because people would have to keep buying them instead of buying that one crafting droid 3 months ago and never talking to a DE again. Perhaps the low-level version would just let the user look for "mineral," or "chemical," etc. As you worked up to Master Droid Engineer you'd eventually be able to craft a droid that let the user specify the name of the resource you're looking for and a minimum concentration percentage. Perhaps there'd be levels in between, like the ability to look for "ferrous metal" or "Copper".

I know I'd buy these things by the truckload.

That would be a nice implemtation for that type of droid though.. best way going about it that I have ever heard
