Thread: Where are the Droid Social Interactions?
Forgive me if this has been brought up before, but I didn't see it on the wishlist and think it would be a HUGE boon to the profession:

That's right, the ability to interact with your droid as if it were the semi-intelligent being that it is. If I cheer, I want it to cheer back. If it does or says something funny and I chortle at it, I would expect it to repeat such a behavior until it irritates me. In short, I want my droids to be more ALIVE.
I'm not talking as sophisticated as what we've seen in games like Black & White, but at least something better than completely ignoring me. If we could even just remotely animate them via the "/tellpet" command, like "/tellpet /smile" it would really bring vitality to these stoic metal husks.
This could be extended to all pets, including faction pets. If you've ever had a trio of troopers under your control when you issued the Stay command, they all salute. I want more of that.
I foresee this becoming an extremely popular feature for very little development effort.

Zweebo, these are great ideas. Even pets have two trick commands they can learn: each of those had to be programmed. Droids, nada.
They *could* do a lot of things to make droids more popular, but they don't. We can't even color our droids, which I complain about every chance I get. How hard is it to implement this, as it is already implemented for droid _chassis_, which move around. Can we get an artist to use the floodfill tool in photoshop?
