Droid Engineer Archive
Thread: I just became a novice droid engineer! Now i got a question...
Well it took a long time, and some material funding from my guild, but I finally did it! Are there any combat droids that I will be able to eventually build?I heard probots were nerfed... so what to do about combat droids?
And you can only have one droid out at a time right?
Anyone care to estimate how many droid engineers are in each server? I heard an estimate of only 10 existing in October for each server.
Plus! and this is what makes them THE best tank out there.. They don't require healing like pets do.
If your probot gets incapped (and even killed) it just moves away from the fight for about a minute and then resets itself, starts to heal itself and runs right back in. A fully damaged probot takes about 10 minutes to completly heal itself ... so you don't need to waste stims or heals on them ![]()
To make the heal faster, go hunting with a DE that has a droid with a Droid Repair mod .. with one quick command, he can completly heal up the droid after each battle ![]()
Probots OWN!!!

Uhh repair mods only heal the "wounds" (blackbar) not the white damage... So a repair mod wont make it heal faster ![]()

Probots are NOT good once you get to some harder stuff like on Lok or Dath or yavin. I remember the day my friends and I all went to Endor, and I gave them each the best probot that can be built. They all died against the first mobs we came up again (arachnaes or whatever theyre called ).After that we just had my TKA friend tank.

Actually, this is a current issue. Old droids with repair mods don't repair white damage, new ones do. Also, Power Droids will repair white and black damage when recharging droids.
What do you guys mean when you say probots make great tanks? I don't understand how you guys are using the word tank in this thread.
And everyone said probots were nerfed right? Does "nerfed" mean changed or weakened?
Also, is there a place with stats on say, how many droid engineers are registered on a server? I am interested to know how many are on my sunrunner server.
Thanks already for the discussion, I need all the info I can get ![]()
nerfed means changed to something less then they once were . Probots now have 810 HAM , while before they had upwards of 3000 HAM (and i thin they could do more damage , dunno , before my time)
checkout www.swgcraft.com for DE listings on each server (in the DE forum)
and as far as repair modules reparing , the one i made last week only repairs the wound damage , but I'll double check tonight
here's a hint for the soloist DE hunter...... Make 3 probot droids , store them in your datapad , and when you hunt , use one , let it get beat to hell , store it (find an open house) and call a fresh droid, depending on how fast you fight , by the time the 3rd droid is beat up , the first should be back to full health.

Semi right.Their was a change in the way healing and increasing stats works, where it heals the wounds with full stats, not wounds (ok, I know that was confusing). Basically, this means that anything that was wounds will turn into undamaged health/action/mind, whereas anything that was damage will remain damage. This gives the appearance of healing damage, but is still only healing wounds. Just double checked it a couple minutes ago, and thats the way its still working.
Ok, I must be dense, because I'm not following you guys wrt repairing...
Are you saying that if a damaged (white) Probot also has wounds (black) in the same bar, that when you use a repair droid to repair the wounds (black) that it also simultaneously fixes all of the damage (white)?
Granted, Probots don't get wounds very often, but this little tidbit could be very useful at times...
Numbers might help.
If you have a standard probot out with 810 HAM that has 700 damage points (white) and 50 wound points (black) you would have 60 health left. When you use a droid with a repair module the 50 points of wounds gets healed. Those 50 points get added to the health. What you end up with is 700 damage and 110 health.
So it appears that the health went up and in fact it did but just as a result of healing the wounds. If you use the repair module again you will see no change in damage or health.
This is based on my own experiences repairing peoples droids. If someone has a different experience please correct me.
