I was dealing with a customer last night, that apparently had a VERY old R2 droid... He had been playing since release(Whereas I started a month or two after), and had just come back after a long break.He claimed his R2 droid had a sarcastic personality chip... And would "talk back" to him whenever he asked him to do anything.

Do any of you ancient DE's out there know if it is/was possible to add a personality chip to a non-"converse" droid?

It was possible at one point but is not possible any longer.

What I'm not sure about is if all the droids that had their personality chips removed were 'nerfed' and lost the ability to speak or if they just made it so that no new droid could be built.

I used to have a probot and mouse driod with personality chip and they both would speak now and again. Of course I no longer have these, I wish they would make the driods talk more it is kind of funny when they do.

As far as I now the ancient droids still speak occasionally. My guild leader has a pre-nerf Probot that, when ordered into battle, occasionally says things like "We're all going to die!" Highly amusing.

I think the worshipful in a 3PO is the best. I would be nice if they talked more however as it is always funny the few times they do speak.

I only JUST this weekend carrying worshipful 3POs as a standard item. I made one for a lark, and when it sold that night I started making them as a regular part of my routine. I am now trying to decide how many I need to have in stock at any one time... And where I'm going to get more Ditanium steel!
