I figured it out! The Dev's based our profession directly from the movie's, but spacificaly one they chose to model us on one droid from Star Wars : A New Hope. Can you guess which one? Yep R5-D4! It too had a bad motivator and blew up 10 feet from where it started.

Feh. That droid sacrificed itself at the request of R2D2!

Self sacrifice is good but haven't we all been doing it for a little too long now? Truly though I ment this post as a joke, its 6:30 in the AM here and Im a little too sleepy and board.

I know it's a joke. I'm in a rather funny mood m'self, coming off a sick weekend with nothing to eat or drink but water since Friday night.

Sorry to hear your sicky Rho, When I get like that the only thing I can even stomach is 7-UP, Momma gave it to me when I was a kid and that the only thing that will stay in my tummy. Where is a 2-1B when you need one huh.

Heh, I figure what I really need is a few hours in a bacta tank :-/
I'm skipping work today because, well, without going into much detail, it's best that I stay close to the facilities.
My poor wife is going nuts. Usually she gets a bit of help with the kids, and now she's got them AND me to take care of.
I'm finding that I'm ok for like an hour or three in the mornings, and then I just need to crawl back into bed for most of the rest of the day.
You know, it's weird... I've put nothing into my system but water (and a bit of black coffee) for like 60 hours now, and yet I don't really feel hungry.

I just got over what you're describing. It was terrible. Keep forcing the fluids - and try some clear broth. I know it may not stay down long, but it helps to get a little nutrition in your body (and it absorbs some of the stomach acid, making it a little less painful when the heaves come).
If you have trouble keeping water down, try sucking on some ice chips.
*hopes for a speedy recovery*

Thanks for the advice. I actually went so far as to dissolve just a little sugar and salt in water to try and at least get my electrolytes restored. It tasted annoying, but it seemed to clear my head a little bit. As of last night, broth was still a no-go, but I'm going to try a bit again this morning.
As for forcing fluids: Boy howdy, have I been downing the water. That actually DOES stay down pretty much.

Rho, I've been fighting a similar battle this weekend. You might try ginger ale. The ginger can settle the stomach, plus the sugars and stuff will help your electrolyte balance a bit. Or youcan try peppermint tea. Not a fan of it myself, but it can also help settle the stomach. Luckily, I'm over the worst of it, I hope, now just got to send my wife flowers or something for putting up with me (and the kids) all weekend.

FYI, in the original Star Wars novel A New Hope C3PO caused the droid to fail.

I've been sick for a week with probably the same thing. I couldn't hold down anything but water for two days and when I finally started holding down food (mostly toast) it made my stomach hurt so bad I couldn't sleep. By Friday I was sleep deprived and food deprived... basically a mess. And grouchy. Oh, was I grouchy.
I feel for ya man.
Get well soon.
