Is it true that items stored in a droid, that in turn is stored in your datapad, will escape decay if you should have to clone?

Thanks!

No I don't think you have to have the droid in your datapad. Just that the item is in your droid and it will excape insurance. Although I am not completely sure. And also droid storage will be good for holding contraband for when the Empirial crackdown goes live.

Unconfirmed, but it's likeley that items stored in Droids will not be scanned for contraband in the Imperial Crackdown. Some people on TC are checking this hypothesis today.

That would be great if droids escaped search and siezure of contraband. ...another marketable droid feature!

Ironically, when I heard about the imperial crackdown, the first thing I thougt was, wow, a new set of droid modules for droids:

  • Hidden compartment - allows for a boost against detection.

  • Electronic jammer - distorts the scan signals, giving everyone in the vicility a better chance to get through w/o detection

  • Money passer - the droid passes some credits to the imp officer, ridding him of guilt, as a bribe to ignore stuff.

Ah, well, at least we get an exploit out of the dea...

I think the best thing with the entire DE community attacking the DEVs is that they are probably too afraid to come on here and see what's going on, and as such will miss the current item-decay/smuggling(hopefully) bug issue for another long while.

I think this is unlikely for the same reason that stuff in droids is immune to decay. Evidently, the way the code is written, the thingsyou store inside your droids are not actually in your inventory. Look at it like having stuff in your house or your safety deposit box. It's there, but you don't really have it on you.

yes, DEVs seem to be afraid of Join and Union statements.

Im sure its a coding issue and not a desirability issue. Of course, if it really becomes a problem, they'll just do what they did with data modules and make it so you cant store anything in the item modules. (well, except maybe schematics)
