Out of complete..... after reading what was coming out in

this patch I wrote Mr. Smedley and the VP of Development

and Senior SWG Producer the following. I wrote this as

at this point I feel that this forum is all but a

complete farce. When OUR SONY reps outright lie 2 us

about things that are upcoming.... and I have held on to

the DE profession for over 4 months for these

promises.... GRRRRRR

Hi John,

I find myself once again in need to contact you.

I have now been playing SWG since last August and have

really enjoyed the game… I play as a Master DE and have

been waiting on this upcoming patch with great

expectations.

First I would like to quote our Sony DE Rep on the SWG

forum

- JustG, 11/25/03: "I will tell you this, Droids (and

DE's) are going to be the MAIN feature for the January

publish. We will be fixing alot of things and adding

combat droids.Yes, talk is cheap. I will get you more

info as the schedule solidifies."

- JustG, 11/07/03: "Hi. We ARE focussing on Droid

Engineers. I am not sure what is happening in the next

publish, but January will see low and mid-level combat

droids, and February will see some serious high level

ones."

Please go to the following link and you can read much

more on the promises that have been made to us.

http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id

=droid_engineer&message.id=58484

at this time I would like to /bonk “the DEVS” SWG is

NOT SWG without DROIDS…

Seeing our Sony Reps have made our development forum a

complete farce and we as DE’s cannot any longer trust

anything they say can you please tell me when the DE’s

are going to be taken care of before I quit this game out

of frustration?

It is my opinion that the DE field is the most broke in

the game. I.E. power droids with 0 use in the game,

Binary Load lifters with 0 use in the game, Repair

Droids that do not work…., As a Master DE for over 5

months I can tell you there is only 1 droid that is worth

making and that is our probot. Anything I can put in a

R2 R3 or protocol I can put in a probot and have the

advantage of a little ham. We are a 1 droid profession

IMHO.

All I am asking is that you be honest with me and let me

know when we are going to be re vamped as promised. If

the droid re vamp is going to take several more months

please let me know so I can quit the game now and not be

strung out on false promises.

Sincerely

Laaba

PS If I don't get kicked out of the game and get a

response I will post it to update all of you

Wow nice and fast response from Gary The Senior SWG Producer... it reads as follows... ALL HOPE is NOT LOST for us DE"s /cheer

Hi Laaba.

To answer your question, Publish 7 and 8 are the droid publishes (not 6 as I indicated in the posts.)

Publish 7 brings low-level combat droids in to the game. Publish 8 brings more utility droids into the game. We are fixing as many DE bugs as we can along the way.

You bring up a valid point, the fact that the January publish is not the Droid publish, as indicated. It will be the next two publishes. Our direction was determined by Lucas’ desire to do the Crackdown first. That is the fundamental problem with telling the players anything on the boards, our focus’ shift depending on current conditions and the desires of our publisher.

Thunderheart and I have actually been talking about how to properly address the shift from P6 to P7 for the droids. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

Not to burst your bubble or anything, but you do realize that "Gary" is JustG, right?

While you have his ear, ask him about the "Deadly" droids we can make at MDE...my Skill box says I can.

Stalling upon stalling.

Buck-passing upon buck-passing.

I quit.

This game sucks.

These devs suck.
