So my co guild mate deqasi trades me her R2 unit. I color it red for her. Then I give it back . It used to have a crafting station in it. But when I gave it back to her it no longers has a crafting station. What the frale happened?

Well unless you traded a different R2 back to her then the crafting station should still be there.

And why the heck are you having people trade droids to you to color. All they have to do is have the droid called and /consent "your ingame name" without the"" and you can color the droid.

Any word on whether they've finally fixed the customization bugs on R units? Especially the pre-patch ones? My R2 unit has been stuck with the "bondo and primer" look for ages and it sucks. Every time I get him customized (which has been twice), as soon as I store him and take him back out the colors disappear.

Older astromech droids were made with some kind of teflon coating, and simply will not take a paintjob.

If your droid was manufactured before October 8, 2003, you're NEVER going to be able to have it hold a paint job. On the other hand, you always know just what it will look like, whether "Your droids customization has completely faded away" or not. Newer R units have random colors except during the duration of the paintjob.

You'd think this would be one of the minor bugs they'd have fixed by now, both retroactively and prospectively...

That is why we must unite and make mature posts and address these issues. Together we can make a difference.

Actually I have gotten a color to stick on an R4 (that wouldn't stick any other way) by having the droid traded to me, coloring it, then trading it back. However, just when I thought I'd found a way around that old problem, another came along that I couldn't paint even when I had it traded to me. For a while my own originally random color droids would go back to grey/red after customization faded. I kept an R3 unpainted just to make sure I had a random one..because I liked it. Now, the other droid that had faded to grey/red has started coming out in random colors again. /sigh

I've given up trying to figure it out, especially since any customization done during the crafting of the chassis is lost during the final combine anyway, rather than having post-construction colors fade back to pre-construction as should be happening. (IMO)

<cackles maniacally as any sane DE should>
