Thread: Price check on droid batteries....

I recently made some droid batteries that through experimentation shows a 4 above it. I am guessing that the 4 means it has 4 charges and lasts 4 times as a regular battery. How much do you think I should sell these batteries for and how much would a factory of 25 go for.

You get four uses out of such a battery, so it's not exactly that it lasts four times as long, you can just use it four times before it disappears.

This is achieved any time you take a droid battery to 75% or higher experimentation.

When I have those in stock, I think I sell them for five thousand credits a crate of 25, or 50 credits per charge. I also break crates up and sell them at increasingly higher prices, until individual four-charge batteries sell for four hundred credits, or 100 credits per charge.

I only sell batteries in crates of 25. 5K for a crate of 25 4-use batteries.

Doesn't really matter.. 5K in this game might as well be 5 bucks in real money.

The prices are different on each server respectively so it is most important to check the price batteries go for on your specific server. I imagine with batteries the price is more static than if we polled what people charge for an R3 with all crafting stations but I would put a few on the vendor for a certain amount and do the following test: 1) if they fly off your vendor quicker than you feel you will be able to restock them, consider raising the price (I always think having items in stock will warrent return customers more than people coming and finding a empty vendor because they may never come back) 2) if no one is buying your batteries and you have decent vendor purchase trafficthe price might need to be lowered.

For example Daltek might sell 25 4 pack batteries on Bloodfin for 5k and on Naritus I sell them for 7k for 25 4 pack. I almost always sell out of a 1000 run (40 crates)in a week and a half at 7k so price according to what people on your server are likely to buy. I too once sold them for 5k but my vendor emptied so quickly I have found 7k works for me. Also examining the crate does not inform the customer that there are 25x 4 packs versus 25x3 packs etc, so make sure you add a clarification somehow to inform your customers. I hope this rambling helps. Good Luck!

That bit about informing folks that they are in fact four-charge batteries is important.

I do it by custom-naming my schematic when I create it: 'A droid battery' becomes 'A droid battery with four charges'.

By the way, droid batteries are an Artisan item, so you might want to check over on their board as well. I know quite a few non-DE Artisans that are selling crates and crates of them.

Good point. I did that. I named it "Viblo Droid Battery (4 charges)". Put my name in it so to possibly keep others from reselling.

I always just gave a crate of 3 batteries (4 charges each) out to every customer who bought a droid, and would give them out whenever my previous customers requested them. Really encouraged repeat business and kept me from worrying about selling worthless things for piddling amounts of money. My time was always more valuable than negotiating price for batteries, for the reason said above: 5k is like 5 bucks.
