No, the kit didn't work because it looked for the droid in your inventory, like armor/weapon repair kits do. Since the tamed Droid is in your datapad the kit couldn't find anything to fix.

If armor was decaying this whole time and we never noticed, could that mean that the old droid repair kits actually worked, but we thought they were bugged because we had no clue what they were supposed to be fixing?

anyone else actually have some of the old repair kits? I have let a friend of mine borrow them for her museum

Well I have two old ones. Yes they looked in your inventory they were just copies of the Armor/Weapon Repair Tools. We don't understand ether.

I never crafted one, did they really check your inventory? That's even more screwed up than I thought, wonder what the devs were thinking?
