Despite the lack of want for my droids from most combat professions, I have found the medical community and the entertainer community (suprisingly) is willing to buy all my droids, mainly for cosmetic reasons; but hey it's a start.

I would like to setup a shop.

I have a few questions to ask you.

I've read the common resource list for DEs, What do you do with your 10 lots? Do you buy all your resources, or in the beginning did you harvest your own materials. I have access to BER 10 Mineral and Chemical installations, as well as a top notch fushion generator for power. But I'm trying to figure out what to just buy, and what to mine.

Before I open my business I would like to gather a large stockpile of rare and common resources so I can start making droids and making money, and eventually stop operating harvesters completely and just buy my resources from contacts. Unfortunately I cannot dothe latteruntill I start getting my sales up.

Im summary:

A. What resources to stockpile

B. What harvesters to place and on what

C. Pricing, how much should I charge?? I've been selling r5 droids for 5,000 credits with all the modules. This seems a bit low, what do you experienced DE's sell your droids for?

I will appreciate any advice/links to guides; yes I have read all the top stickies, but some of this information remains unanswered. Thank you for your time.

PS: I am not in the DE profession to make 'mad credz', I just wish to run a mainly roleplay garage and make someprofit on the side to fund my pistoleer persuits. I am full aware of the situation of the Droid Engineer profession, and except its flaws; and am hopeful for the future.

First off... unless you have more than one account you are limited to 7 slots, and further reduced if because of the shop...

A. you need to stockpile steel and fiberplast for sure... my suggestion would be to keep an eye on swgcraft.com for rare spawns such as the current Lidium Extrusive ore (bria) and then get a very large stockpile of that - I believe its cheaper to harvest your own than to buy from someone else unless they are offering a very good deal... which i've seen once or twice- of course I was broke at the time and could buy any
B. based on A, steel and fiberplast - normally very handy to have in stock... also low grade ore, copper, aluminum are great things to harvest
C. Pricing is very dependent on what server you are on... but last I checked most players use a 5-7cr/unit ratio... however my pricing is more dependent on module/chassis and i've never had someone complain about my prices

Stockpile any of the named resources, as well as good quality steels, coppers/non-ferrous, fiberplasts/polymers and extrusive ore. You will always be in need of those resources. When a rare named resource spawns, put a bunch of harvesters on it, you never know how long it will take to spawn in again.

B. What harvesters to place and on what

See above. Most people probably use all the harvesters on one resource at a time for easier upkeep, or split them between 2 different resources. Try different methods out, see what works for you.

C. Pricing, how much should I charge?? I've been selling r5 droids for 5,000 credits with all the modules. This seems a bit low, what do you experienced DE's sell your droids for?

Pricing is extremely server-specific. I'd suggest running around to other DE vendors and checking prices. Personally I like to get at least 15 cpu for a droid, more if it requires nasty factory time or rare resources.

Thanks for at least looking for the info before you asked. I really get sick of the "What to grind?" questions two or 3 times a day.

Good luck!

I'm having alot of fun actually.

Anyways, thanks for answering my questions

I have one more though, what does quality of the resources effect?? And how do I know when resources change. Do I just check on all the non-special planets every week or so on the tool for new spawns and go search for them on my swoop or what?

I may need to rethink my prices if you are charging 15cpu.... then again I've been accused of overcharging and mine is less than 10cpu (normally)

I'll leave the effect question alone since in my opinion it doent change a dang thing. if you use the 'current resources' from the website www.SWGCraft.com you can keep track of the current resources on all planets. its actually a very relyable resource.
