Thread: So, where do the 'Old Guard' DE's go when they 'die'?
Heh, thats the best offer I have had in a considerable time.
I'll think about it - as all good girls say ![]()
I do think it's coming to that, I hope not, but I think so.
And nowhere we go can possibly have the lack of feedback that these forums do. I often think they are so unsure of where they are going, they are frightened to post. Yes UO was far better in that (and many other) respects.

My inner-DE diedwhen Publish 7 went live.
As much as I've tried to fight the good fight, I will only continue to doso for the future of the DE profession, not out of my personal gameplay desires.
It's sad to say, but as someone who once said, "I'll drop DE when I leave SWG", I'm just trying to make as much money as possible before I finally move on.
I'm here (in SWG) until the space expansion - that will be my deciding factor. Thankfully I've found other things in game to occupy my time between stocking vendors.
For now. ![]()

Some of us old guys never die. We just smell that way.
No, that's the smelly rebel in you, Arden.
It's too bad the Rebellion is so dirt cheap that Leia can't afford to requisition you guys some soap... ![]()

Old DE's don't die, they get disassembled for parts... ![]()
Personally, Publish 7 took a lot of the will to be a DE out of me. As of yesterday (haven't checked today) I have not sold a single droid since Publish 7 went live. My vendor is well stocked, and on the planetary map, and pre-Pub 7 I sold probably 2-3 droids a day. Not a single one since. And with my will to be a DE goes my will to play this game. I'm on the verge of hitting the cancel button, and looking at the Development Schedule in JustG's latest 'State of the Game', I may not be back.
/sigh
This game had such potential.... and still does.... but, judging by the past, it won't ever realize it.
I've never been a prolific poster, but I've been around since the beginning.
Like many others, publish 7 has broken my spirit. I spend more time digging through
the City of Heroes forums than playing SWG now. I pulled my factories and harvesters
up and put a few weeks worth of cred's in my house.
Sad, really. My expectations for DE were very low. I'm the only DE in my group, and all
I wanted to be able to do was make useful droids for my crew. For free.
I wasn't looking to run a business, make uber-droids, or anything like that. I just
wanted the Squad to want to come to me and say, "Hey, Senor, I really need a couple
droids." Well, that doesn't happen. I think I've made seven droids for them. /sigh
I think SWG is the most progressive MMO out there. They have tried to do so many things
here. I still have hope for this game, but some real changes need to be made.
I, too, will be waiting for the space expansion. In the meantime, the no uber-loot, no
grinding, no 'combat system based on penalties instead of fun' MMORPG, City of Heroes,
will be occupying my time.
I can't imagine what it will be like to log into a game and be able to enjoy it immediately.
Without doing any micromanagement or other random work...

i kept the DE but mostly im a master artisan/weaponsmith and i even make craft stations...i love crafting so had to find a path that would let me enjoy that since Droids are cool conceptually but in game a letdown. oh i still sell BH droids, easier to do the occassional fac run then make 1000's of components for full droids.
