Thread: added combat, destroyed crafting

Okay, You have created a system where a probot can get it's butt handed to him by an R3.... lame

The bug with multiple crafting stations is fixed .... but you can no longer put crafting modules in R units...

Why can't the dev's do something without going to one extreme or another? I gave up Master DE that I got a month after release because i was so sick of not being able to create a droid that someone wanted besides crafting. I took an alt up to Master DE after the new release hoping things had changed and you have gone to the other end of the spectrum! R2-D2 could not tank in Star Wars!! A probot was a Deadly droid!! What response do I hear? just wait till the next publish.... Forget this lame broken profession! I will just wait till they are fixed and let some other poor sucker waste his life away making me a droid. Whoever is responsible for this mess should get **edit**canned or sent back to Everquest. Star Wars was about technology not creatures. SOE could have put as much energy into DE as they did into CH. All we have now is complete system of weapons that move. Why not make droids under the weaponsmith tree? Thats all they are now! sorry about the flaming, I am just sick of being let down as a player and a Star Wars fan over and over.

Try putting the crafting module into the "combat capable module" on the R#-unit... it works (supposedly)

- Account: Master TKA (cancelled)
- Account: Master Doctor (cancelled)
- Account: Smuggler (cancelled)
- Account: Master Chef (cancelled)
- Account: Master Droid Engineer (activity suspended pending developments)
Total loss of annual revenue (SOE): ~$715US to ~$900US
- Bad press: Priceless
Should Sony and Lucas Arts be worried? (15000 users * 5 accts = ~$13MIL in potential lost gross annual revenue) If I were the CEO for either LA or SOE, I would certainly be worried.

It does work. But I agree, the way itworks now for the R-series droidsis enormously confusing.

I tried putting the cluster module in an R3 with 3 crafting stations in it and it would not work. The old R3 units would take it. I had to put it into an adv. surgical as it was the only one that would take it besides a binary load lifter adv.

that is why it is confusing. you have to put the non-combat modules in the combat-capable cluster and then put that cluster into the R3 to get non-combat modules into the droid.

It has to be said, so I'll say it.

If a developer had to design a more confusing patch update than this one, then that developer would:

A Be a cruel and sadistic fellow who cared not for those who followed the 'stock up' advice

AND

B Deserve a degree in 'confusion causing', issued by the Galactic Confusion Corporation, and authorised by Dr Mi Im Confusing of the Institute for Confused Thinking.

In short, its chaos personified. We who know, know. The majority who don't know are flailing at a demon, and none of us think it makes a blind bit of sense.

In addition if has cost a crafter who followed the advice loads of credits and resources. Not to mention the useless deeds.

I'm sorry, but it's unprofessional of them to have done this.

well, someone could have put all these undocumented and confusing changes as line items in the patch notes instead of making three or four redundant and vague statements about how droids compare to creatures. don't get me wrong, that was a good point, but it deserved one line item, not 4. especially so given all the things that weren't mentioned.

Sadly, documentation and softwre development standard practice are both strangers to SOE, this cannot be disproved.

In short, from an IT point of view, they are so sadly lacking it would be comical, if it didn't hurt real people like it does.

I sometimes think they forget, its not like selling a single player game, it's a community of real, live people. These people have feelings, hopes and aspirations, and we all get treated as if we were ...well...droids.

You hit the nail on the head there, I'm afraid.

Skybo;

Reading the wrong professions forum with the wrong character again, aren't you?

You really think a MD/MCM's comments amount to anything here?

If you weren't my alt on my other account I'd really trash you.

Gawd, this schizophrenia's got to end some day!
