They can be, but it does detract from the droid's own combat potential. For example, a probot hold 5 modules - combat modules have a rating up to 110 like medical ones do, so with all five slots occupied by combat mods, you get a combat rating of 550 (which translates into different stats depending on the chassis), whereas with the medical mod you end up with 440 max combat rating.

thanks for your quick response.

Ok so what droid should i get then? i don't need a crafting station or storage...just want to have one that is namable with the best combat rating. Do other droids also hold 5 modules? And are all droids that hold 5 modules equal combat-wise?

cool thanks...what about those droid schematics you can buy from a recruiter? they go up to R5 i think...do they hold even more modules?

The schematics you buy from recruiters are EXACTLY the same you gain during your career (that means, if you need for example Blueprints 3 to build certain droid, you can build it with Blueprints 1 and the schematic bought).

The R5 is the lowest Astromech model. It can hold just one single module. Capacity increase in the following manner: R5 -> R4 -> R2 -> R3
