Hey all Droid-Engineers...
I have a tool I use for shipwrights, that I've recently made some DE data for, which I think is complete, but am unsure as I'm not a DE.
So check THIS LINK out.
Let me know if you have questions! (and also suggestions for improvement, error correction...and all that jazz, but I think you'll like it)
Link to shipwright forums and 'official' thread:
Orske's Current Best Resources
As I came up with the data myself, some from SWGCraft, some from other areas, so it may be out of date, just point me in the right direction.
I also have Armorsmith, Architect, Bio-Engineer, Chef, Weaponsmith, and a limited Artisan data set available for use.
So you know, it takes the current set of resources from SWGCraft for your server, compares them to your chosen crafting professions' schematics required resources and stats, and computes the current 'best' resource for you to use (hence the obvious name, heh).
The tool takes gates and caps into effect, so results will reflect how good the resource actually is regardless of stats displayed (like, conductivity on plumbum iron for weaponsmiths is very low, but compared to it's gate, it's not bad sometimes).

You get props for a cool and useful site! The only flaw I can see is that the SWGCraft database is wretched on some servers. Tempestians use asiabrothers.com.... maybe you can load the data there for Tempest? I have never seen a more thoughough or complete database of spawns for a Server. There is an "export" link that d/l a .CSV file. It saves as a .PHP, but just rename is .CSV and open it up.

i'll look into it. the only problem is my tool expects a format like swgcraft. any other format will screw it up. i could write a converter though...lemme check...

Alrighty. Looked into it, and though impressive (for historical reasons), it will not be able to be used by the tool, as they use a *far* different CSV format than SWGCraft.com. I mainly wrote my tool for current resources only. It's a shame that SWGCraft does not allow download of historical data, I wish they did.
Theoretically, I could write a converter to modify that data file to be used for this tool's purposes, but I can't see doing that work for just one server, sorry
Any other commments?

Thanks for looking into it! I have to say that I feel sorry for the other servers. They would all benefit greatly from a website like asiabrothers.com. The key, of course, is reliable and honest Maintainers.
Still and all, I like your site!

thanks for the vote of support. yeah, I agree with you, having the amount of data that asiabrothers seems to have would be nice, and well, swgcraft.com relies on it's maintainers also...i just wish i could query historical data in some way without crafting urls and parsing html output....*shudder* it could be done...but well, not fun.
*though* if I get really, really, (really x one gazillion) bored...I just may do it

Very nice sight! I must give a HUGE thank you because the day I checked you sight for the first time I saw the current spawn of Lidium Extrusive Ore on Eclipse. That got me mining a couple days ahead of when I would actually have noticed the spawn. I had been looking for weeks for some.

On Scylla we have a website called the Scylla Surveyors Guild, you only have access if you keep it updated. It is awesome. Way better then SWGcraft

Yeah, i've seen some server-specific sites, and many have damn good updates and people doing it. I wish more would do that with SWGCraft, but that's the only place where I can get all servers data on the same format.
If that scylla site has the exact same CSV data format as SWGCraft (which I highly) doubt, I could easily throw it in my tool for output
What's the URL? I can check it out to see...
