Im finally starting to gear up to start making droids.. at first it will mainly be for guild use but I also plan to have a vendor setup with droid sales at some point. I have a few questions about the components though:
1) What components of droids do not matter as far as quality? (I hear some things like droid brains dont matter for quality so the resources used dont effect the outcome)
2) When you have a droid that does not specify an advanced component is there any benefit to using the advanced component vs the non-advanced? i.e. advanced droid brain vs droid brain
3) What effects the outcome of armor components? The ones that use composite segments in particular. Does the quality of the composite segment effect the outcome of the droid armor part?
4) What is the benefit of using an armor lvl 5 or 6 over 2 level 4s.. if they only cap at 40% no matter what.???

It is all there. Read the stickys and read the threads on this page. I have answered at leastthree out of the four questions very recently in the last few days.
But i will answer this. Droid Brains and Adv. Droid Brains are two seperate components and are not interchangable.

Well, I dont know if I'm going blind or what, but I have read all the stickies and did not find answers to all my questions. The only ones I can find seem to be "yes some droid components quality doesnt effect the final droid quality" but I cant find a specific list of which ones do or dont effect it.
I did manage to find some info on the armor parts.. as far as using a lvl 4 vs a lvl 6.. but nothing about what the quality of the composite segment had to be.

1) There's quite a few where quality doesn't matter, per se. Modules such as the entertainer effects, medical, storage (data/item), arms, motive systems, micro sensor suites, brains, playback, merchant, personality chips, crafting stations...
2) Sorry. Unless the schematic calls for advanced brain, it won't work on the normal brain slot. No interchangeability. With weapons,I believe you can use advanced items, but in the case of droids, nope, you can't do that.
3) You can use the lowest, 10+ critfailed created composite segment, and it has no affect on the final results. As far as I know.
4) There is a cap of 20pct. Max. No more Medium or Light rated armour of a metallic droid (go figure - Bio-beast can have light, but our metallic companions cannot). Skip the 5, and use *ONE* L6 armour plate, or *TWO* L4 armour plates (if the droid has two armour sockets). Either way, it will max out at 20pct. Just the L4 doesn't require composite armour segment.

On all Non-Optional Iteams the Quality does not Seem to matter. on the Optional Componance it depends on what they do for the most part its just the Entertainer Mods (all of them) and thats about it I beleave

The key is not to just read the FAQ. The FAQ is somewhat outdated at the moment. Sorry if I sounded rude there but there are threads on this front page that if you sift through them contain all of your answers.
