If you read the "How to grind DE" post, it mentions BLL's, just wondering if anybody has.
Well my friend needed to grind DE for Jedi, so I was talking to him about what was needed. Then I remembered the part about BLL's. Having recently aqcuired a bunch of Duranium steel, I thoguht maybe I could really help him out and do it the "easy" way with BLL's.
Then I actually started looking at numbers.
You would need to make about 292 of these, let's say 300, considering crit failures, which we know would probably happen.
That is 1800 Advanced Motive Assemblies, 300 Droid Brains, 600 Manipulator Arms, 300 Droid Sensor packages, 75,000 steel, 75,000 Duranium Steel, 225,000 Metal, 225,000 Durralloy steel, and 150,000 fibroplast.
That is 850,000 in resources, before you even consider all the sub-assemblies.
That is a lot of resources.
But I guess if you wanted to get DE in an hour, it would be worth it.
So basically, I gave my friend some GRIND steel and fibro and told him to get a clicking

I did, after taking a month to do armor, way back in july,, and helping my friend finish arctiect in novemeber i had enough of that.. i made 200 Bll's in my grind.. i gave a way lots of them not like people where knocking fown my door for um.. took me 5 hours total to do DE.. was very worth it.. Got extremly lucky and both steels spawned right when i started de.. droped some heavies on it and started up factory parts : )

It will only take the average "Holo Grinder" 2 days to do it with Frame Units. Why would you waste 2 or 3 days waiting for factory runs to be done? Unless of course you get some DE to make you the schema's you need 3 days in advance, it would be faster to do it the other way.
If you are organized enough to start preparing a week in advance then..WOOT! The DE grind is a breeze.

I did it in a little over a day using advanced Frame Units, yea it was a lot of clicking though.
The BLL way takes about 3 times as many resources, plus they are named resources.
I was just curious if anybody actually found it worth it.

I did. My main is a DE from launch and I got a second toon later for combat and holo -grinding. My second holo said DE so I already had a bunch of parts around and the resources. I just made a bunch of BLLs and still have about 40 in stock since then!

I partly did. But the factory runs took so long I ended up grinding 2/3 of the profession while the parts were going! By the time they finished I only had a tree and a half to finish with them.

I did DE as my last "hologrind" because I actually want to keep it.. it only took me approximately 8 hours of grinding to finish not using the BLL method of course.

Its good to see that someone actually used the suggestion.
When I wrote that guide, I only added the BLL grind suggestion because it really is the fastest item to grind. It however takes the longest amount of time to prepare for. It was added to appease the hologrinders who has the credits and factory time to burn and would rather spend time running around killing things then crafting. You can easily set the factories to run the parts, or have someone else do it for you, while you lope around the galaxy hunting or taking in some PvP.
I'm also surprised to see that the guide is still being kicked around.

I'm doing it right now. I'd just finished the Arch grind, so I built myself 2 equipment factories, ran the schems for them while I ground out BLL's. I havent been able to play much the pastweek and a half and wanted to grind out one last prof. Time away from game and limited play time dictated the BLL method, but it has worked out great!!!
Thank you so much for the suggestion.

Will the ubiquitous /nextCraftingStage macro, used in almost all other professions, work with the BLL method?
I seem to recall something about the requirement of a station making the macro ineffective...
(I'm not grinding this, a friend is, and he's not getting any xp whilst using the macro)

I did it for about 90K of the xp- mind you, I didn't exactly grind DE save for the last bit (took me a month to master)
But that was 4 months ago before I knew about many of the craft macros. Meh. Dropped it in favor of smuggler recently.
