Heres a thought why don't all of the devs take a second and really look into the starwars universe, for what type of people typically used what would be considered high level droids in game. First there is Lando, lets see his profession would probably be a mix of smuggler and merchant then later in the extended universe he was more Merchant/ polotician, I suggest putting some higher level combat droid certs in the merchant profession. Also why not take that useless underworld branch of smuggler and put some real usein it, so they have more than one combat oriented branch. Then there is the trade federation, who are all a bunch of merchants, not droid handlers, not droid masters but merchants and we all know they used alot of combat droids. Do you see where I am going here... we don't have to add new professions to the game or require people train upawholetree on just droid use. If you look into the sw universe you can easly fit combat droids into existing professions that aren't stricktly combat oriented, so that it shouldn't overpower anyone. Now for the reasons you shouldn't have the already powerfull professions using combat droids. The bounty hunters the pistoleers the carbineers the riflemen and all the other almost completely combat oriented professions should not have access to higher level combat droids. Why you might ask, its simple, because those characters in the star wars universe were typically proud of their combat skills, they were constantly trying to prove themselve, not prove how well they could use a droid. Also combat droids were expensive in the old republic, so they had to have costan arm and a legduring the GCW, which is something a combat class just can't afford, since they are spending their credits on weapons and armor and other things related to making themselves better warriors.

Now I wasn't sure where to say this, so Ill say it here. ,Ifyou really must add a new skill tree for droids, then just make more advanced droid combat skills anddroid abilitiesavailable to them, with a few unique droids kinda how combat classes only have a few unique weapons, not10.I say this becausemost droids wereavailable to whoever could afford them in the star wars universe, not just to people trained in droid handling, which could be worded more appropriatly in my mind as droid programing. Any who Im rambling its late, I hope this makes sense. Come on devs think about it and it will become obviouse. For the rest of us players out there and to help the devs out, Why don't more people give some examples of types of people/ professions used droids, and more specifically what we would call high level droids. Also other non conventional uses for droids. For example how about letting poloticians buy combat droids and have them patrol the city, and if anyone is fighting in the city the combat droid will attack them and only incap them, with the warning of take your violence else where or something like that. Let the polotician set the droid to have specific things tonot allow likeweapons to be equiped in the city, and the droid will warn you for having your weapon out, then attack if you don't put it away within 30 seconds or something. Things like that lets get the ideas out there for uses for droids and ways to impliment themthat the devs might not have thought of.

Couldnt agree more Bapef. They keep adding more professions this game gets thinner and thinner. Take another look at the professions already in the game and trash the skilltrees that are not being used.

Unless a player is going for FSCS there is no reason to master most professions. Only the crafting classes get great skills in the Master box. Most combats are hybrids of a few professions, especially people using pistols.

My other BIG complaint about droids....they are useless. CL10 pet has more use than a probot. Combat droids should work like mobile turrets with varying damage types so players might actually buy more than one. Picture yourself pulling out HK-47, w/ cold damage, setting him up and and having him attack that 300k ham krayt giving you a chance to sick pets, get your bleeds/burns on them and if you get an aggro thedroid just switches targets. I think that is a benefit of droids over animals. The ability to sense what is going on around them and to react quickly. No commands needed...

I remember asking about Droideka during beta and being told...

'oh yea, they're in'

DE Epic Quest should be Droideka!

Make them millions of credits to buy just make them worth it!
