Thread: So What Would You All Do If...

I hope you don't think I was slamming you. I merely added my opinion regarding people who claim to have the 'best' of anything. As from my experience its very difficult to make that claim, as you've found out.
No, I don't. ![]()
In fact, I have spoken to the original poster in-game as well and he is a very nice gentleman.
I was just upset that someone posted my prices and weren't telling the truth. I am sorry to him that I reacted so emotionally, though, but I opened this thread expecting anything but posts about me. ![]()
You are correct - this is my first foray into Droid advertising, because "The BestTech In The Galaxy!" has always been my slogan, and up until now it has always been true
. I always used level 6 modules, etc. - but I made each droid with care and since droid quality was droid quality and at the time was a non-issue past the module levels and it was just like "the best hot dog you've ever had" IMHO.
I have changed my advertisement to "High Quality" combat droids, however I do still advertise that I have Maximum Damage R3's, since all of mine are a perfect 600.
My apologizes to everyoneif I ruffled feathers, I simply was trying to get the word out on Droids. I was getting nice sales already, but I find most people just don't know they are out there.

WHO CARES if you say you have the best of everything. SOE says it right on the box when it talks about Jedi. It is called advertisement. How many Novice weaponsmiths have you seen running around claiming to have super high quality guns, knowing full well that they probably are just selling run of the mill scout blasters. Every advertiser has done this since the beginning of time. If you feel it necessary to run out and inform every player of the quality of crafted items then so be it. Maybe you should start a Better Business Bureau on your server or a Consumer Reports type publication. I really dont care what people charge for anything. If you want to sell 30 units of meat on the bazaar for 3k then that is your issue not mine, and whoever buys it....well maybe they got screwed, but hey that is life. BUYER BEWARE, that is the motto to live by. You stick around long enough in this game and you realize that paying 50k for a small house is too much and you know where you can buy one cheaper. All merchants have to price their wares to however they want to sell them. Some weaponsmiths charge millions for their guns because they have loyal client base, others charge thousands. Charge what you want and say what you want, if it is too high or you speak half truths then that person probably wont shop with you again, its that simple.
You know we all craft droids and probably all kinds of other things and we like to think after all the hard work and time we put into them that they are the best, even if we know deep down that they are not.

My apologies for getting your prices wrong. I was indeed looking at the crate of LE droids, and I'm not sure how I messed up on the Probot price. I wasn't trying to lie to hurt your business, as I felt your practices were bound to do that on their own. As far as sending you a tell about the spam...you were AFK. What's the point of trying to talk to someone who's AFK?

I'd probably just /addignore them like I do with all AFK spammers. I noticed one doing just that on my server, Leyah, I think the name was, spamming that she was selling THE BEST combat droids. I went out to her shop. Wasn't sure whether to laugh or cry. She was charging 130k for an R3, 175k for a probot, 300k for an LE combat model. And people were buying. Her droids were no better than mine, which run from 35k to 45k.
That is a blatant, out and out LIE, and you should do your research carefully before you accuse people of things.
Yes, this weekend droid sales had slowed down, so I decided to try my hand at advertising at Starports. Since most people don't even know about the new combat capabilities because no one seems to be selling them, I took it upon myself to do some advertising this weekend. SOE won't give us a better way to advertise, and people always tell me they never know where to find droids.
I charge 60K for an LE Repair, 70K for a Probot, and yes, 130K for a R3.
I also sell factory crates on my vendor, which are 350K forcrate of 5Probots and 300K for a crate of 5 LE Repair.
In any case, the only price you got right above was the R3 - because you didn't even get the crate prices right it wasn't a misunderstanding of what was a crate and what was not - you obviously were embellishing in any case.
I have changed my advertising message, but likely won't be doing it past this weekend anyway. As far as I knew (and I had visited every droid vendor listed on the planetary map), my droids are the highest I have ever personally laid eyes on.Since this has been brought to my attention that some have gone slightly higher, I have removed that part from my advertising. As to advertising, itwas just something new totry to make the most of being a DE.
However, I do not appriciate you lying about me on the forums. If you have a problem with me you should have spoken to me, instead of airing inaccurate dirty laundry here.
I am a highly respected Droid Engineer, I have shops on two planets, and I have been serving the Starsider community since the first week of July. I have a reputation as a good, fair DE. You may not agree with my prices but I have yet to have a single complaint.

I've no problem with people shouting to sell stuff. Though the ones that spam every 30 seconds can get rather annoying. Personally I have a problem with someone claiming they have the best stuff on a server if it isn't true. Its misleading and some customers would base their buying decision on this without checking the validity themselves.
As I said above I visited every single droid vendor on the three main planets, and did not find any (that were listed vendors) that had higher stats. I found empty vendors, a couple of people selling for like 3x my price (who really had 200K Probots), and a few people that were just selling old Probots.
I have changed my wording since becoming aware that some people have .02 better speed.
Since no one had the courtesy to tell me instead of slamming my name on the forums I operated on the information that I had - I would haveremovedit with a smile if someone had politely let me know.
