As it stands we are, in theory, 2-3 weeks away from the release of Publish 8. Also, in theory, it should be going to test center within the next 1-2 weeks if they are on schedule.

Yet we find ourselves still sitting here scratching our heads as to what we are actually getting in this patch aside from a power meter. I get /tells from customers asking me "do you have the entertainer module yet?" .. "do you have exploding MSE's?" .. "Do you have spam modules?" .. "Do you have..." .. "Do you have..." ... "Do you have..." and I am forced to reply "No. And its not even certain we are getting one, it was just a proposal made OVER A MONTH AGO that is yet to be confirmed or denied."

In all fairness, there has been more than enough time to descuss and plan what is getting added on the devs side. If they are not already deep into coding the publish they are clearly over 2 weeks behind schedule which is very unlikely IMHO.

We need to understand what is happening to our profession and we need to be given more than a wish list that Thunderheart dreamed up over a month ago.

We need INFORMATION and I think it is very fair to say that its well earned.

TK, instead of posting a reply to each sentence of this thread please just pass on the jist of it to Thunderheart. Publish 7 has been out for the good part of a month now and we are still in thedark as towhat's getting added next...

why do you think patch 8 is going to be out in 3 weeks? The mini-publish "in the middle" hasnt even been pushed live.

To me it looks like they've moved publishes to every two months, with the mini in the middle. Im not really expecting patch 8 till just before memorial day.

I said "in theory" .. I didn't say its what will happen. Idealy, they are supposed to be monthly publishes. 2 weeks after the publish they are supposed to release a mini publish. The Corvette should be out next week which suggests 2 weeks after that the main publish could well go to test center.

Either way, it is time to get some info no matter when its ETA is

Publish 8 was delayed.

They haven't said that, but it's obvious.

First, the "mini publish" already happened - two weeks after the publish. It had the Wookie armor. If you noticed, there were lots of posts that day saying, "Uh, where is the Corvette??" It was then TH said "this is the first of two minipublishes".

That's the first time anyone has ever mentioned two mini-publishes, and the only thing to assume isthe publishes were split into two because the Corvette still wasn't finished.

And since publish 8 isn't even on test - and indications are it won't be any time soon - one would assume that next week the Corvette goes live, publish 8 (hopefully makes it to TC) and two weeks later maybe it will go live...

So we are back to six-weeks between patches, at least for now.

eh, there hasn't been any indications as to when P8 will be up, but then again there never is... Generally it takes everyone by surprise when they post a publish on TC.

yeah, it went from the wookie armor will be "added to" the minipublish to 2 mini-publishes.

i still say beginning to mid may.

That's why I said "hopefully".

But I doubt they would push it before the Corvette goes live.

In either case, publish 8 isn't coming any time awful soon.

The point is, we have zero information. TH says soon.

We will see.

That's exactly my point. If we don't have info on whats getting added we can't summise our thoughts on it .. and lets face it, its US that have to live with these changes and seems to me that we arn't even going to get told what they ARE until its on live ... in the past when that happens it ends in a total dissaster simply because the devs go ahead and add what they want without consulting the community to find out if they actually want it...

The "spam" module is a prime example here. DE's have said they'd like it like we say "I'd love to have Britney Spears tied to my bed" ... it doesn't mean we ACTUALLY want to live with Britney Spears tied to our beds 24/7. There is enough spam in the game already, would allowing droids to do it as well be such a good idea? Well it seems we don't even get the option to have input on it before it goes to TC ... then when it does and everyone hates it and it ultimately gets removed, thats one wasted module that could have been something else but isn't simply because we wernt involved!
