The Droid Data Storage Module, what is the intended use of that item and it is required by someone?

In the data storage module you can store only waypoints and schematics, since from what seems from TC patch notes the pets were not intended to be stored there.

Let's see those 2 kind of data that we can store:

1) Schematics: They allow you to mass product an item in a factory having alway thes same stats of the original design you experimented unsing the same resources you used for the schematic.

Now why store schematics? Every week there is a resource shift, so the resources you used in your schematic will be nomore your schematic will become completely obsolete in a matter of 2-3 weeks and since schematics are for mass production of items i doubt ppl will make schematics for craft a few items, they will make as much crates they can with theyr harvested or buyed resources and delete the old schematic.

2) Waypoints: You can create waypoints for being able to go to a specific location.

Waypoints can be emailed, everyone knows that the best way for have a friend come to you or a customer come to your shop is just send him an in-game email with the waypoint. Holocron also stated that a in-game notepad is useless since you can send an email to yourself as a remainder. Since you can send an email to yourself with the waypoint you need to store and just delete it from datapad, now you have your waypoint stored in a place you can access everywhere, not in a droid you need to call in a camp or city. So storing waypoints in a droid is completely useless, we already have a cheaper and better way to store them.

Since the datapad have already a 100 size and pets and other data usually use 1 the normal player will use at most 2 creatures pets, 5 droids, 3 faction pets = 10 slots in the datapad, that lets you have room for 90 waypoints/schematics and since waypoints can be stored in the mail system you can keep just those 20 most used waypoints and have 70 slots free for your schematics!

Devs, Give us a reason to use the data module or get rid of it!

LOL Devs never ever come here.

Waypoints can't be stored in them either. The only point to them is for crafters to store schematics.

In other words, they are useless, because as you pointed out, there is enough storage in the regular datapad for them.

Actually I'd be happy enough if they stored Waypoints. I have over 60% of my datapad full and thats just waypoints on one planet.

Now If I could have a droid-per-planet for waypoints I'd be happy

I use the datapad to store my scmeatics. I don't want them junking up my waypoints.

I am not a DE and I get the concensus that you guys feel your stuff is useless. I find just the opposite. I have recently started using droids for a few reasons.

1. They just fit my character and play style muchs better

2. They are more useful than my stupid CH pets.

3.They add dimension to the game. This is Stars Wars for god sake.

DE are essnetial in my mind to the game. I think your communityprovides a great value and I can't wait till there is even more to offer.

I really hope they change it so we can at least store waypoints on droids, only because its a lot more organized than sifting through my emails.
