Wouldn't people rather have a probot with 40 percent med armor with a couple modules? I dont understand the benifits of an R2-R3. Please inform me.

Why did they make so many toys in the form of R2-D2? (You should see my house. ) Why did they make so few toys in the form of a probot?

See my point?

armor is not a deciding factor, as I can put the very same armor rating on the R2 as a probot.

i'm with the other poster. Probots are the stupidest looking thing. R2's are way cooler. I don't usually need help in a fight, so my personal droid of choice is an R2.

It's simple. Probot: 2 modules. So you can get a medical module and a crafting module or a crafting module and storage module (and yes, people DO like storage modules). But you can hardly cram everything a customer might want into the thing.

R2/R3: 3 modules. So now you can get a crafting module and a med module and a storage module or repair module in. Not bad, but still can't hold everything a prospective customer might want.

R2 Adv: 5 modules. At this point you can pretty much load it up with everything: crafting station, med module, item storage, data storage, droid repair.

R3 Adv: 6 modules. See above, but with a cooler "status symbol" look. Also, the extra module slot handles the case where you can't make the level 6 module for a particular thing because the resources don't exist and so you have to "stack" a module type or two.

The number of module slots alone definitely creates a difference in functionality beyond cosmetics.

The R frame droid hold more modules but since most of them refuse to work together it sort of wastes the frame.

I ask the customers all the time and they say it's for looks.

Well, this may be a hair off topic, since I'm going to bring up the ADV R4, but it has 3 slots as well, and I dont have a 'working' factory to make R2's with

I'm still in the lower 1/2 of most DE trees, but I discovered a med module stack that gives me 100% medical. Ufortunatly, it takes up 3 slots in order for me to do that, so basicly if I make one of these 100 med R4's thats all they can do. But, thats still one good reason to try and sell those, and so far so good... I don't sell alot of them, but frankly, I don't think people on Florry (or at least in Tyrena) have discovered the joy of droids

Don't forget that not all of us out here are 'Master.'

I sell what i call a R3 Advance Delux module. Below is a list of the modules and the configuration allows all the modules to work.

General Cluster 0ne

Medical Module 6 bonus 110

Craft station module (food& chem or Structures or Clothing&Armour or WDG)

Datastorage module 6 capacity 150 (for all those factory schematics =P)

General Cluster Two (I final got this model rating to a 7)

Repair module

2 Item staorage lvl 4 giving 10 item capacity.

Everyone seems to love this configuration. Now if i can only paint my droid in different colors =)

Now I tested permadeath yesterday with a new advance probot with 2 item storage compartment. I had the droid knocked down three times with meat stored in it. It came back to life all three times and the meat stayed in its storage compartment...however I think there was a bug cause vitality did not move after it (animated) blew apart in combat. I sure that will be fixed soon.
