OK..

At one time I read in more than one place that surgiacl droids were to heal anyone close to it, albeit very slowly. I have yet to see this be the case. I hear a lot of noise that it is all about the chassis. A droid is a droid is a droid... Is this true? I have been told by some people that this is currently not working, but will someday.

Ones and for all would someone lay to rest this rumor...

Do surgical droids provide a small amount of healing?

I do know about med mods and how they work. I am not asking about med mods or the ability to heal out of camp/town.

No, they do not heal people by themselves...

And, as far as I know, surgical droids are not supposed to be able to heal, although the Devs have been talking about adding some functionality to droids. Devs don't want to put medics/doctors out of work, so if the do add the healing, I expect it to be very little...

Yeah we have the Probot, wich can help as a support fighter if you know how to use it. And we have the DZ-70 Droid, which I think is supposed to make the enemy fall dead from laughing.

While in Beta, I would often hang out at a NPC Rebel camp just outside Mos Eisley. They had a Surgical Droid there and YES it did heal you when you were injuried. So my guess is YES Surgical Droids were originally designed to heal people... why they do not now, is anyones guess.

Last time I checked the reb surgical driods still do heal you. I will admit its probably been 3 weeks since I have had this happen, but I know it used to work.
