Droid Engineer Archive

Of all the artisan based professions Droid Engineer is my favorite. Of all the artisan based professions Droid Engineer is the most Starwars like. I really like DE's, and I know that you all have and are in bad shape atm; so I wanted to post some suggestions.

Ahh, the elusive and deadly Droideka. Notice its named DROID-eka, surely just by looking at its name one would assume that a DROID Engineer cold produce one of these Droids. Well, I was thinking if it were so gonna so easy to craft then obviously it would not be a powerful combat droid; so here is what I suggest.

Much like this rumored RIS armor quest that Master Armorsmiths can go on and eventually produce an unrivaled set of armor, I would like for Master DE's or high level DE's to be able to do basically the same thing except to produce a Droideka.

Seeing as how Droidekas are kind of old and made before the battle of Naboo, then either their components could be part of a quest or looted. Say you would have to go to Lok and kill many Droidekas until you looted or found either a one time use schematic of their body/frame or killed enough to where you looted enough pieces to make their body/frame. Then you would have to fight your way through some dangerous cave to retrieve an enhanced Combat droid brain, the only kind that a Droideka will accept. And maybe throw in some other stuff here or there.

Now I believe that these Droidekas should equal or stronger than the pre-nerf Probots (3kHAM, 40% resists across the board *drools*). Now to keep them rare all the components should be hard to get and only Master or High level DE's will be able to craft them. And to make them even more rare/valuable/useful have it to where the Droideka is incappable of bing repaired after it has been severely damaged 100 times, and Vitality packs will not work on them.

I for one think this is a great idea (but im being kind of biased, because it is my own idea afterall), I would gladly take any amount of time or pay almost any amount of money to have my own Droideka, and given its actual possibility of destruction without repair, then I would probably not use it to tank very often just as a show-off type droid.
