Get some harvesters to bring you a bunch of steel and fiberplast. Use the steel and fiberplast to grind out as many MSE Droids to reach Blueprints II. Once you BPII, use the steel and fiberplast to grind out Adv Droid Frame Units.

Obtain as much Steel and Fiberplast as you can get your hands on.

Welcome to the big grind! Sit a spell and read all the FAQ's and problems with droids.

In all honesty, I suggest you wait on Droid Engineering and do some other profession instead. Then when Droid Engineer has been 'fixed' you should continue your training in it. Right now you're just going to grind for nothing.

Take up scouting or marksman, put the crafting tools down and save yourself the pain of "the grind".

Tip: Don't. Try not. Do not.

The suggestions already given are great for starters. If you really are interested in the DE profession, consider getting a second account right now. Believe me, you WILL need the extra lots in order to bring in enough resources to grind.

Feel free to catch me in-game (since we're on the same server, Chilastra), and I'll be glad to give extra pointers as I think of them. In-game name is in the sig.

My tips: Make sure you read the sticky posts at the top of the page. Especially the ones that talk about current problems and bugs. You will need to learn these well to be able to give educatedadvice to customers on droidsales. Sell a broken droid to someone and it isnt good business. It also helps avoid confusion.

Also get some decent combat skills because you will need to makemoney to pay for harvesters in ways other than droids in the early going. Another way is to join a guild and hope they float you a loan. Otherwise it can be very difficult.

Good luck on being a DE!

Nah...some mighty potent hallocinegens are what any starting DE should take, so that they can see a DZ70 live up to its true fighting potential.

Honestly, if you are just starting out now the best way to make it to the top is to read up on the profession daily, so that you can find any new bug issuse that pop up. I'd also suggest building up a 'friends' base on you server that consits of loyal customers. Branch out to other crafting skills so that you can make quality items that will draw in potental buyers. My bread and butter right now are crafting stations with 41.00 - 40.78 ratings. I'll have customers see these crafting stations in someones house and send me a tell about them. I invite them down to the shop and sell them the crafting station. After that sale is done, I make mention to the droids that I have to offer with the same type of craftng station on it. 8 out of 10, they will come back and buy the droid as well.

Building MSE droids is a good way to level until you get to Blueprints 1. Once you get that, and if you have the ability, use a factory and fun a ton of gp modules and electronics modules, or buy them from a Master Artisan. Then, build the seeker droids. They require 2 GP modules, one electronics module, some chemical, and some metal (I think it requires steel). It takes as long as a MSE droid, but gives you 300 xp per unit. Plus, it's actually something people would buy, unlike MSE droids. Do that until you get Blueprints 2, then switch to ADV droid frames, which require a lot of steel and fiberplast, but give like 400xp each.

Like everyone said, start collecting 2 partssteel and one part fiberplast.

And if you happen to see extrusive ore or lidium extrusive ore, MINE it. You will need a huge quantity of this more rare material when you get higher.
