Alright, so what's the deal with basic (not Advanced) R2 units only able to take COMBAT modules in their one and only slot? Ya can't put a data module in one of these things to make it a (relatively) cheap Astromech??

What is SOE smoking??

(Or is this ANOTHER bug from the last publish?)

that one slot is for a combat cluster. you can put up to 3 combat/general modules into a combat cluster. when you get the adv. R2 you get 2 extraslots for modules

To add on to that ...

The difference between a combat cluster and a general cluster is the ability to add combat modules to a combat cluster. So, with that in mind, any droid that has a combat cluster can be a combat droid or a utility/service droid. Just choose the modules you require.

A brief outline of R models and module counts is as follows:

  • R5 - 1 module

  • R5 Adv. - 2 modules

  • R4 - 1 module

  • R4 Adv. - 3 modules

  • R2 - 3 modules (in a single cluster module)

  • R2 Adv. - 5 modules (3 in a single cluster + 2 single modules)

  • R3 - 3 modules (in a single cluster module)

  • R3 Adv. - 6 modules (2 cluster modules each with 3 modules in)

Hope this helps somewhat.

Thank you to the two expert replies above! That really helped!

Would have been nice to have that "cluster" slot explained a bit better in the crafting process info as I dunno, maybe a "universal cluster" slot or some such....

Ah well...

Thanks again!
